Q: I order this coconut oil and the old container says *extra virgin*,now they sent me a new style container & it says *virgin* is it the same ?

We previously used the term "extra-virgin" to emphasize our commitment to quality, however, as a leader in coconut oil, Nutiva is committed to complying with global regulations that do not allow the term "extra-virgin" in regard to coconut. When you see the term Virgin on our packaging, rest assured that the product is still the highest quality and has not changed.” Simply complying with global regulations in verbiage, not in product or processing.

It is the exact same product. It was essentially a marketing thing, in effect, to compare it to extra virgin olive oil. Go to coconutoil.com. Very informative website about the processing, origins, etc.

The experation date is on the side at the bottom edge of the jar( not on the bottom)
