Beautiful Paper Flowers: Elegant - and Easy to Make - Blossoms Paperback – April 1, 2014

I purchased several copies of an earlier edition of this book and kit, and I loved it. It reminds me of my childhood making May Baskets with my Gram. I really enjoyed having it available to give as a gift, particularly to moms and their daughters, and to people I know who don't think they can't do crafts. Well, with this kit, they find out that they actually can. People who've made the flowers have said what a fun "rainy day" project it is.This version is even more elegant and tasteful. I've "restocked" so I will have something I know is lovely and well-made to pass on. the packaging is so pretty that I won't even gift wrap it. There aren't that many things you can buy and give for such a great price. Next, I'd like to see one that's more oriented toward boys -- not that boys can't or don't love flowers.

Very nice book, but again, I love the paper that came with the book, also the wire stems, but no source where to buy them. It is different paper than all crepe paper I have used. She says it is very inexpensive, but have no idea what it is called, or no source. I do not understand why the authors of these DIy books leave this out. Must be a good reason, because a lot of them do it. I will not buy a book again that does not have a source page.

This is a great kit! It includes instructions, paper, floral tape, and wire stems. The instructions aren't too hard to follow, and it makes beautiful flowers, just like it says. I docked one star because the paper colors are all really bright, so I had to find some more pastel shades elsewhere. Also, the paper included is not crepe paper, but you can use crepe paper if you want. I bought a second kit because it was cheaper than refreshing the materials a la carte.

Skimpy is how I would describe this kit. It is beautifully boxed and the photos in the very thin book are nice. The included paper is NOT crepe paper at all, but rather some cheap type of scrapbook paper and so the flowers don't turn out like the photos at all and are more difficult to form. The wire stems are nice but the included stamens will barely do one flower.All in all, this would make a nice gift to someone wanting to dabble at paper flower making as an introduction to see if they enjoy it. For anyone else I recommend getting a different book and making a trip to your local craft store for supplies. For anyone serious about making flowers this set is sure to disappoint.

Pros: Good illustrations and templates. Good explanations. All in all, I'd say the book is helpful. The flowers won't fool you into thinking they're natural, but they're more realistic than some paper flowers. I consider the book worthwhile as an instruction book.Cons: As has been mentioned by several other reviewers, the paper is not the kind discussed in the book. Nor is its texture similar to that of flower petals. I can't see it being satisfactory for making paper flowers at all.I'd opt for getting the book, minus the extras. There are good tips in the book. Too bad the kit didn't supply the proper materials to go with them.

This is a lovely small book with great step by step instructions and wonderful photographs to help you follow along. It is packaged beautifully and gives you a great start on learning this fun craft. The only downside is that the paper included is not crepe paper and not ideal for flower making (nice for card making though). Crepe paper is easy to find and you are going to need lots more of all the supplies anyway once you get addicted to creating your own paper garden. Sweet gift for a crafty friend.

I'm not sure what paper everyone else got but I got crepe paper in my kit. Which is perfect for making flowers. It's not too stiff to bend and crease but is still stiff enough to not too easily.Instructions are easy to follow. I'm looking forward to make the flowers. However I did want something that was more correct on the structure of real flowers.

Comes with all the things needed to make the flowers listed. The only problem is when making the flowers, floral tape is not sufficient for wrapping the paper around the wire. Working on another solution, and also trying some more to make sure it isn't just me. Beautiful book though, with lots of different designs and good for the beginner.

Absolutely fabulous. The instructions are so easy to follow - my first attempt was a pink rose and it looks great, really real! Would definitely use this seller again.

I would rate this as 5 stars but unfortunately (not a fault of the seller) the paper included was not actually crepe paper. It describes itself as crepe paper but clearly isn't, which means you can't use any of it effectively to create the flowers in the book. I'd recommend buying some proper paper first so you can actually follow along with this book!
