Perfect replacement for the OEM
My 280 had very little suction and after some troubleshooting, I found that there was a crack in this piece. It was shooting water everywhere when I lifted it out of the water. I replaced this part, and everything worked perfectly. It looks exactly like the OEM which lasted just over 5 years. If this lasts that long, I'll be happy.

Works as well as the original backup valve!
The price was great and it was delivered the next day with free shipping! The price was much lower than our local pool store price and the estimate from our pool maintenance company. Plus it is super easy to replace this part!I turned off the pool pump and removed the old valve using the screws. Installing the new back up valve was easy. Total time was less than 5 minutes.I turned the pump back on along with the pool cleaner (sweep) and watched it run for about 10 or 15 minutes to make sure it worked as it should. Success!The quality of the product was very comparable to the old original valve. I would definitely purchase this again.

This was a replacement reverse thruster for our Polaris 280. It is working well.

Save your money - DO NOT BUY!
This stopped working about three weeks after I got it. Now, of course, the return window is closed. The valve sticks and won’t open to pull the cleaner from the wall if it gets hung up. The gears don’t line up and are so loose that they get off track. If you take it apart and line them up and push the pins in to take the slack out of the gears, it will work for one revolution. And it might get stuck in the open position and pull the cleaner all over the pool! Save your money. Don’t buy this…

So far....so good!
Reverser now works as it should at a fraction of what the local store wanted and very fast shipping! I will buy a few more to keep in stock....chlorine and sun kills anything plastic.
