Shubert's Big Voice
We love this book by Dr. Becky Bailey. We read it during times when my daughter needs a boost of confidence. It reminds her important lessons like how her words have power and how to use her big voice during the times she can't find it. It should be in every preschool library.

love this book
This book helps little people to speak up for themselves and find their voice. This book does a good job of helping kids to stand up to a bully and know how to find the words to speak up when needed.

Words have Power!
While taking the Mindful parenting series in Pdx we learned of these books. They are right in line with the way we are now parenting! We now have 5 of the 6.

What is going on with the price?!
First I have used this book as the core of my classroom community for years. Do not be intimidated by the amount of words it just looks wordy this book is perfect for parents and teachers interested in teaching their children how to appropriately stand up for themselves. That being said you can purchase these books at lovingguidance.com for a normal price and not the insane prices here. I use this book series to teach human growth and development and too good for drugs and holocaust in kindergarten. For human growth and development the series makes you aware of the bodies physical response to emotions and introduce techniques to attain composure. They teach students about making positive choices and standing up for themselves in appropriate ways. For a too good fro drugs curriculum this book series talks about choices and how to give and receive help from others it talks about being a good citizen and respecting rules and managing your emotions which is what we teach in Kindergarten. For the Holocaust it teaches about seeing the best in others strength in diversity and how our actions can influence the way other people feel and act. The series is perfect for giving both parents and teachers tools to use when dealing with some of the most disruptive behaviors and creating a powerfully engaged and loving classroom community.
