The media could not be loaded. I got the replacement and this is what I wanted lol fan works great sounds great and really cools you off. I guess the first fan I recently ordered just had too much power lol but I still recommend it it’s a great fan and my old fan is still blowing strong too going on abouy 4-5 years now!I bought this industrial fan because I literally own one exactly like it that I bought like 3-4 years ago. This same brand and has lasted me and has been so amazing so I searched for it again because my son needed one for his room and me thinking, okay this fan brand has been durable and great so I purchased one again and this time upon turning it on it sounded like a planes wind turbine about to take off and it shook around until it fell. We looked it over made sure everything was screwed on properly tried it again and still so damn loud and shaky nothing like our old one. I put in for a replacement but I’m upset because I had such high hopes for this fan and it’s also expensive but I looked passed that because of how good the quality of my old one is. I will update when I get my replacement.

I have house that's almost 100 years old and the electrical system can hardly support modern microwaves and toaster ovens so air conditioners aren't much of an option. The only AC in my house is a large 220 volt window unit on the 2nd floor. Have one of these fans to blow the cold air down the stairs to the 1st floor and the 2nd at the bottom of the stairs to blow the air into my livingroom.These fans are great for airflow and helping you feel cool during hot weather. Their LOW setting is more powerful than standard box fans from places like Walmart. Even on low you can feel the air blowing from over 10ft away.Assembly was easy and the fans are sturdy since they are mostly made of metal. The base is quite heavy making them stable (and as a bonus, my cats seem to like sleeping on the base). The fan can be directed 360 degrees vertically and horizontally so you can easily direct the airflow anywhere you want.But being powerful fans, they can be loud. Fine for a bedroom or hallway where it acts as white noise, but in a livingroom you might have to double the TV volume to hear it as clearly as when the fan is off.

I was reading the specs and it said the fan is plastic but it's clearly aluminum so that's even better. You don't have to clean metal as much as you do plastic. If you haven't got one of these, you really need to get one. I bought it used. Keeps it out of the dump.

To the extent that all you care about is having a powerful fan, this was a wonderful purchase. Even the lowest setting blows more than a "kind homosexual gentleman" at Folsom. I call this the "outside fan" because that truly seems like the best place to use this fan (note: not waterproof!). Use in a bedroom only if you're trying to use as a noise making device or you're just a person of excess, someone who would appreciate drinking ice water from a mop bucket at a restaurant.However, there are some opportunities for improvement.First of all, my fan arrived missing the required hardware to assemble the pole onto the base. I didn't want to hassle with a return so I just went to my local hardware store and bought a bolt of seemingly appropriate size. It's working fine.Second, as I alluded to before. This fan is LOUD, even on the lowest setting. I honestly would be happier if the lowest setting was the highest, and there were two lower settings. I've only ever used the "high" setting as a way to keep roommates unaware of any primal fun happening in the vicinity, and for that purpose it does quite well (esp when paired with music). I don't think there's a real reason for "medium" speed. At any speed, truly, I do not need this much ventilation in any room of my house. But, my house has a bunch of small rooms so maybe for some this is more ideal.I've had it in my bedroom, making too much noise, constantly cycling between "low" (too loud) and off as my tolerance for heat versus noise oscillates. And, I've gotten used to the excess of it. So, Four stars. It's a good fan. I'm just an idiot for buying an "outside fan" for my bedroom. Other reviewers warned me, I didn't listen. I bought this fan to blow across the top of my wood stove to distribute heat. It has a simple 3 speed control switch on the back of the fan and almost everything is metal except for the cover on the base, height adjusting tensioner and the fan angle adjustment knobs( there are metal captive nuts so you could remove those if you are trying to use this somewhere they could melt). It blows enough air at low speed for my purposes and isn’t too loud. I plan to use it in my garage in the summer on high where it does make noise but flows a lot of air. Very pleased with this. The simple speed switch is ideal for my setup where a temperature controller turns the fan on and off.
