Eden Organic Apple Butter Spread, No Sugar Added, Great Lakes Apples, Slow Kettle Simmered, 17 oz Glass Jar

I think years ago I tried this, and I was like, NOPE this is NOT GOOD! It’s NOT like my grandmothers! But, it’s been SO LONG since I’ve HAD my grandmothers that I COULDN’T honestly say what WAS and WASN’T! But, what I CAN say is that this does NOT have added sugar! And someone who has SO MANY dietary restrictions because of health complications, having THIS apple butter available for me when SO MANY out there are LOADED with sugars, AND it’s accessible at Whole Foods? It’s a win all around! I can’t say about the money. But, in terms of value for ME, I use it on SO MUCH! I throw it in coconut yogurt for a flavor, again, because no sugars. I put on a rice cake and throw some banana slices on that cake! SO GOOD! I will SOMETIMES dip an apple IN my apple butter! 🤣 Because WHY NOT!? It’s SO GOOD! And, it makes the food you’re eating taste GOOD!I LOVE how thick the apple butter is. I’ve tried some where they SAY they’re apple butter, but really. They’re just a thicker version of apple sauce, passing as butter. I LOVE how thick it is because when I’m spreading it across my rice cake, it go along SO SMOOTHLY, like peanut butter! And almost as thick too! But the taste is SO LIGHT and SO SWEET! If I’m needing a “sweet taste” I will often JUST take a small spoon and dip it in a little and eat THAT. And THAT’S enough to fulfill that “sweet urge.” It’s GREAT value for your money in JUST the diversities of it. And it’s sturdiness of it’s glass jar holds. I can be clumsy, and I’ve dropped it. It didn’t break! It’s like it’s make of thick glass for the accident prone in mind! And to get the lid unsealed, one good pop into the wall and you can hear the pop release. Which is perfect for me as I have VERY little strength. This is WORTH the money, and WORTH the taste! It’s SO good!

My pork tenderloin in my crockpot turned out wonderful with the sauce I made with this apple butter. Its thick, but once I added bone broth to it & other ingredients, it looked like pot roast gravy. You’ll see it on top of my tenderloin in my pic. Gave the vegetables a nice taste. Def woke up tastebuds with recipe I used. Jar was sealed and delivery was fast.

I really enjoyed the creamy texture and the unique, almost caramelized flavor of this apple butter. It’s thick enough to eat directly from a spoon for a quick treat. There are no spices listed in the ingredients so I was surprised at the depth of flavor achieved. I will buy this product again.

Tastes SO Good, even withOUT added sugar! I spread liberally on homemade low-sugar blueberry muffins & suddenly the muffin becomes great! I don’t know what the packaging was like before, but now it comes extremely well boxed and that seems almost guaranteed to prevent breakage. I just wish the jar itself would be a little easier to open.

Purchased this very thick & very dark organic apple butter again because their glass jars are excellent recycled & Amazon managed to deliver two of them safely. As for the apple butter's taste, my own sense of taste may have changed since I had to keep adding sweetener to make it palatable. So, for some it may be better as an ingredient in another dish than eaten as is because there definitely has been "no sugar added".

I've got to get myself another jar of this. I was worried it wouldn't taste sweet because it doesn't have refined sugar in it. But I was amazed at how sweet it was. It takes yummy on our sourdough bread. I can't get enough of it.
