Creator Ocean Explorer 42064 Science Toy for Kids

Enjoyed building this 3 in 1 set. The larger model ship is the best. So much imagination when playing or just viewing this model. Reminds one of the real thing.

I love the Lego Creator 3 in 1 sets. We bought several for my nephew. It's nice that the same set of blocks can be used in 3 different ways to get a lot of play for not too much money. Legos are so expensive that it's nice to buy versatile sets. These are great for my 5 year old nephew to put together with a little guidance from his dad. All of the creator sets are roughly on the same scale, so they can play together nicely. The set is pretty small... I saw an idea of using a 3-ring binder with pencil pouches to store/organize small sets of Legos. These creator sets would be perfect for that. Subject matter-wise I really like these vehicle sets because they don't have anything to do with violence or fantasy themes. Better for younger Lego enthusiasts. We will look for this same set in a few years when our son is ready for Legos.

Summary: Same lego bricks that I remember from when I was a kid. The Good: - Lego branded instructions are really easy to follow, especially compared to the generically branded lego bricks. - I purchased this via Amazon Warehouse deals at a discount, when the product arrived the only issue I noticed was that the box was damaged a small bit (as if the box was dropped onto a corner or something). - Lego has a consistent "clutch" power compared to generic building blocks. - I was able to build the ship and the mini submarine with my son in about 45 minutes. - The ABS plastic that lego uses with their bricks is more consistent than their generic competitors and really hard. The Bad: - As of recent I have been purchasing generic branded lego(s) I have never had an issue with a brick missing from the generic branded building blocks; with this lego set I found that one white brick with the nubs on one forward face, in addition to the nubs on the top of the brick was missing -- In its place I found a normal 2x1x2 white block. - A significant portion of the bricks in this set had at least one nub on the top of the brick where it appeared that the ABS plastic was injected into the mold via a pinhole but, the little extra but where the injection occurred was not tumbled off or trimmed off. Other Thoughts: - When purchasing this product I was under the impression that I could build the boat, plane, and submarine all together and play with my kid with all of those vehicles at once -- It turns out that all the bricks in this set allow you to build 1 of those 3, which the concept is interesting and empowers kids to think about their options when free building with the bricks. Demographics: I am 28 years old, male, live in Minnesota USA, my son is 2 years old, we play with legos together -- he can only play with the small bricks like these when he is supervised.

Who doesn't love legos??? this set is perfect since the child can assemble three different toys...boat, plane, and submarine...BUT NOT ALL AT THE SAME TIME - so keep that in mind when you purchase the set. it's wonderful to create the boat...put that on display for awhile...and then take it all apart and get ready to assemble one of the other options. we have lots of legos...so my advice would be to keep this particular set in a separate zip lock bag when it is apart so that reassembly into one of the other options is easy since all the parts will be together. the boat, BTW, doesn't float...but that didn't stop our grandsons from bringing it into the tub for playtime. we haven't put the other options together as of yet as we are still admiring the boat! LOL!! my 5 year old grandson followed the step by step instructions that come with all lego products and had this assembled in minutes. great toy and especially love all the options that it comes with.

Lego stuff is expensive but worth the money due to its high quality fit and finish. The chinese stuff just doesn't compare. Kid plays with this all the time but doesn't play with chinese tinker toys as the parts get stuck and break when trying to unstick. Some parts too lose. Not the case with Legos. There is a reason this stuff lasts and lasts.

I like this set. I only put together the mini sub and barge, but it is fun. I received this for Christmas, and I am almost 40. My son and I worked side by side on our legos. It was a lot of fun. I didn't have legos as a kid, but I am making up for it now. After my son and I finished he took it and started playing with his boat and mine.

This set does not float at all, in fact it is still a great piece but just don't have any expectations that it will be a great bath toy. We did not buy it expecting it to float, I am just saying for those that think it will....it will not. Still a good lego set and a five star review for me. I did not get this for free, I did not get a discount, I paid with my hard earned money and decided to purchase this biased on real reviews.

Excellent lego set for the price. Some of the lego sets are really expensive for a few pieces because they come as part of a "set." Not this one. This is a great set and I think would make a great gift for a boy or girl under 10 at a really good price. We got this for my daughter and she loves it.

My grand son enjoyed making it.

Love this. Almost a replica of what I work on/with and enjoyed sharing it with my son. A boat, crane, and wanbe rov. Super cool

It's LEGO. You can never go wrong with LEGO.
