'Audrey' Vintage 50's Style Swing Party Rockabilly Evening Dress

The quality of the dress is very nice, the material is not too thin or overly thick and rigid either and has a bit of stretch - feels very comfortable to wear. The zipper is fine so it doesn't feel rough or ridged either. It's true to color so black is indeed black. It looks exactly like it did in the picture. In terms of sizing, I'm just shy of 5'6", 165 pounds, chest is 36C, hips 41, waist 35. I ordered an XL and the fit is very nice it's a little bit big in the waist and the bust but the large probably would have been a little tight. In the future I would order a large rather than the XL because I'm losing a little bit of weight. I paired the dress with a thicker black belt that was tighter and it chinched the waist nicely taking care of any perceived room since the waist is about 1 inch larger than needed. The cut on the dress is special, the way that the collar line goes up to the throat and to the edge of the shoulder is very flattering and balances with the bottom of the dress which can lay or be puffed out if a Petticoat is worn. I would recommend this dress and have recently purchased it in several other colors.

I was looking for this specific type of bodice and skirt when I set out on my buying adventure, but I wanted something a little shorter (try a lot shorter). However, after much looking, this was my best option.The fabric is very nice, quite thick and heavy. Lint is not immediately apparent on it, which is nice. The lining (i say lining, but it's really another thin mesh skirt) is silky and comfortable, and one could wear this dress comfortable with no stockings/tights. I myself put a crinoline tutu under mine, and it puffed magnificently.The only complaint I really have about the dress is that the belt is rather flimsy, and doesn't look like the picture. If you have your own belt, it may be better. The small piece of leather to keep the loose end of the belt (i'm sure that piece has a name) fell off after one wear.(Incidentally, I altered the dress to be the length I was looking for. The skirt is now quite short, and I've gotten many, many compliments on it.)

This dress is beautifully made, but it just didn't fit. I'm not sure if any size would really fit on a woman who is not pencil thin like Audrey Hepburn. If you've got anything up top, you might want to skip this dress. It's very tight on top. But again, it's excellent quality, and really pretty, but I sent mine back.

I ordered this dress for my breakfast at tiffany's themed bridal shower. I wasn't sure if the dress would arrive in time since the Amazon estimated arrival was past the date I needed it for. After I placed my order I contacted the seller and they responded promptly and assured me that the dress would arrive within 2 weeks, sooner than amazon's time, and also said I could contact them again in a week to get an update and tracking number. Well I didn't need to do that because the dress arrived in a week. Pretty quick since it ships from the UK. I wear a U.S. size 14/16 so I ordered the extra large and it fits great, also could have went with large. Like some of the other reviewers said the top is not lined and pretty thin, but it doesn't bother me since its more as a costume for me. The top is also pretty fitted so if your a busty woman it might be tight or uncomfortable. The skirt is full and a bit lose, but with the belt it's fine. It came with two black belts, one kind of like the material of the dress, the other patent leather. I ordered a separate petticiat for fullness but it really didn't need one unless you want extra fullness. The dress looks good on curves and I'm satisfied with my purchase!

For the price I was expecting a better quality garment. from the moment I opened the package it was one disappointment after another. It is ill fitting, the eyes on the belt are easy to bend and looks better in the picture. however I have shown it to my mother and she loves it, she tried it on and it suits her very well. I did not like the fabric but being a 50's dress she would know better than me. I might have it exchanged for a smaller size and the teal would suit her better, the black is too black and would probably go better with a coloured belt. not my cup of tea but it is my mums

the material is very hard and stiff (even with multiple washes), and it stinks horribly when you first get it. Like moldy and musty. The belt that was provided was broken upon arrival. the neck line is very droopy and doesnt sit flush against you as the image would make you think. It now lives in the back of my closet and only gets used for funerals. Wont be purchasing lindy bop again

First off - it's a little snug so some folks might want to go a size up. I can deal with it.THE DRESS IS AMAZING. I bought it to wear to my father's memorial service. It's perfect and very "Mad Men". It's so flattering. I wear a small and this fits well. LOVE the modest neckline and the full skirt that looks awesome with a petticoat. Perfect length and I bought a black hat with veil, black gloves, bolero jacket and character shoes and it's not only the perfect outfit for a memorial but it's classic and classy enough to wear out for a special night out. Take off the petticoat and put on some flats and you've got an ideal quirky girl dress. It's fantastic. I am so happy I bought this dress.

I never purchase clothing online because I like my nice clothing to fit perfectly or I don't bother at all. When I came across this dress on amazon, even after I moved on, it kept speaking to me. I read all the reviews and decided to go out and buy some measure tape to get my dimensions. It was coming from England, so I did not want to be emotionally traumatized by the return process. It would be nightmare come true.I ordered a petticoat as some wearers suggested.THIS DRESS IS SO CLASSY AND AMAZING. I LOVE IT.BUY IT.I am a size 2/4 and i ordered the small. fits awesome. no tailoring needed.Not sure I will become a clothing purchaser online now, but the chance was worth taking with this dress and it paid off.

I bought this dress for a funeral so I wanted something more formal, it looked very nice with a petticoat it doesn't really fall right without one. The belt is nice but i used a waist belt instead.Everyone complimented me on the dress it was fairly comfortable.
