the mushrooms are very large, they taste good but make sure you rinse them off before use.

I use these in almost every dish I make. I am a big fan of straw mushrooms. Plus they have a great shelf-life.

Great product they used to carry it in Publix but no longer so I ordered it on Amazon. This is my second order and both times the cans came very dented. But I don’t believe that affects anything inside.🤞

These straw mushrooms from Roland are delicious. They are light in flavor and have that mushroom texture that goes with any dish like pastas or stews or soups or even salads. I store these for quick spaghetti dinners when I am short on time or want to spruce up a quick dish. Tips on expiration: To determine when the mushrooms were packed in the can, look on the top of can for a code with a letter followed by 4 numbers which represent year, month, date. So on mine which I purchased on 12/19/2019, the code is T0603 and this indicates it was packed on 2019, June 03. Letters are alpha by year such that T=2019, U=2020, V=2021, W=2022, and so forth. Roland always pack them fresh and Amazon is pretty good with delivering recently packed cans. I have never had quality issues with Roland which is why I stick to this brand. Remember that the date is when they are packed not when they expire. Canned mushrooms can last up to 3-5 years depending on how they are stored. So I know I can store mine until 2022 though I usually eat them all within weeks. I definitely recommend them over the smaller mushrooms as they have much better texture and are not as squishy (unless you over cook them like normal mushrooms). Cheers and enjoy!

I have found consistently high quality in almost every Roland product I've ordered over the years, with very few exceptions. I ordered these straw mushrooms to make Thai Tom Yum soup but use them in miscellaneous stir fry dishes also. My husband who tends to complain about some kinds of mushrooms really likes these. Some mushrooms (portabellini for example) can get dried out and rubbery if they are overcooked even a little. These canned straw mushrooms stay soft - not mushy. And they taste good, too! The only thing that could make these mushrooms better (and other Roland products as well) is if Roland changes to BPA-free can linings. That would be wonderful! Unfortunately all the cans in my first delivery were totally bashed/smashed (way beyond dented!). As always, the customer service rep was most gracious and the replacement shipment arrived in perfect condition in its own sturdy cardboard shipping box. I actually placed this order as a separate order but the shipping department combined this order with 5 others, some of which were my monthly subscribe and save items, and threw them all into one big box. Most of you "out there" know that Amazon has a problem in its shipping department with people who have not been trained to not throw a heavy cardboard case of canned goods on top of bubble wrapped cans. Bubble wrap can only do so much! I am becoming more and more hesitant about ordering any canned products from Amazon and that is a shame because I've done a high percentage of my shopping on Amazon for several years and would like to continue to do so.

Several cans were substantially dented with my last shipment. For that reason I am probably going to cancel my subscription. In the meantime I am skipping the next two shipments. I dont use these mushrooms often, so I did not initially realize the cans were damaged ( they were tightly wrapped in plastic

This is a nice change of flavor and look. They are tasty and can be added to most any dish, even top your salad. The mushrooms are large, I do cut some smaller so they are easier to eat. They look really nice in a rice or pasta dish with a light colored sauce. Make sure you add them at the end because they are already well cooked and will fall apart if you cook them too long. They only need to be heated. I have used them cold out of the can as a snack and to top off my salad greens, that looks very appetizing. I love these whole mushrooms, so I can use the 8 cans. There is enough in one can for a family size meal, maybe mix them with peas or carrots. I also add them to soup but do cut the big ones in half. They do great in any gravy.
