I wanted an ergonomic standing mat for my sit/stand desk that would allow me to move my weight around instead of having me always standing in the same position (thus allowing me to stand for longer periods of time before reverting back to sitting). My greatest concern was buying a mat that would be too soft (i.e. the terrain is useless) or the outer layer would fall apart. I've been using this mat for over 2 months and the mat shows no signs of fatigue! The spongy core is also plenty firm, offering a good balance of squishy padding and substantial support for my 225-pound self. One of my favorite spots to stand is balancing on the tall ridge on the back of the mat, sometimes balancing on my toes and doing calf-raises while I'm doing my desk work. As for size, I'm 6'0" and the mat is wider than my shoulders. I can spread my feet apart a fair distance and still be very comfortable with my feet nestling into the inner sides of the left and right ridges. This mat can be easily picked up and rested against a wall or under the desk when I want to use a chair. It doesn't have a handle, but it does have a grip etched into the back (tallest) ridge to aid in carrying. Not as great as a handle, but it's at least something. Note that this mat is a significant tripping hazard when it's on the floor. Do not plan on using this mat in a high-traffic area where tripping is a concern. I would definitely recommend this standing mat, and I would definitely buy it again! UPDATE 12-05-2019: 13 months later and this mat is still as good as the day I got it even with daily use. I love the thick bar on the back of the mat; exceptionally well designed for a variety of standing positions that keep fatigue to a minimum. Highly recommended!

This mat outright rocks. I left my adjustable height desk up for 3 days straight after it arrived--i'm talking 8 hour days. This mat really inspires movement and keeps my creative juices flowing. On day 1 my legs felt a little tired after 4 hours because I was moving so much. I thought for sure I would have to sit on day 2, but I felt rejuvenated the next day and the day after. With my Sky Mat (high quality flat mat) I can do about 4 or 5 hours straight standing, then I simply must lower it to seating height. This mat makes standing tons of fun. I wish I could use it in other places! I was eager for this mat to arrive and looked forward to it a great deal, but the TOPO mat is better than I could have imagined. It is clear that a great deal of research went into its creation because after roughly 50 hours of use, I can't think of more than one problem with the mat: that is you MUST remove it from the floor when not in use because it is definitely a tripping hazard. I have seen people writing that the mat is too large, but I think it creates a perfect little station at which to stand. Any smaller would be too confining. There is room to move my feet forward and back and side to side, allowing me to naturally shift my weight as I always would, but this mat really absorbs the impact of those movements and allows lots of different standing positions. The back ledge is my favorite for stepping back and looking at my monitor while stretching my calves. I am a pretty active person who stands almost all day at work, so I may not be the typical consumer who is just getting into standing desks, but let me say that this has reinvigorated my interest in standing at my desk. I used to simply endure standing at my desk for long periods of time, now it is so much fun and I never seem to get tired. Even after 8 hours I could go take a long walk or exercise or do anything else. This mat takes all the strain out of standing at the computer. I could go on forever about how great this mat is.

Schon nach den ersten 10 Minuten Benutzung war ich verliebt. Meine Füße frohlocken und ich konnte heute mehrere Stunden anstatt nur 30-60 Minuten an meinem Schreibtisch stehen bevor ich mich mal wieder hinsetzen wollte. Das Layout der Matte ist genial; es gibt so viele gemütliche und abwechslungsreiche Positionen, und sowohl meine Sohlen als auch meine Fußgelenksehnen sind so entspannt wie sonst nie. Ich wechsle quasi mehrmals pro Minute leicht oder komplett die Position, aber es lenkt nicht vom Arbeiten ab. Stattdessen macht es sogar richtig Laune eine gute Dehnposition zu finden. Die ganze Matte ist super, aber vor allem der Tropfen in der Mitte und der hohe "Damm" hinten machen diese Matte um Welten besser als alles was ich davor versucht habe. Die Matte ist schon ziemlich teuer und ich musste 5 Wochen warten bis die Matte versandt wurde (danach ne Woche Versand + Zoll), aber es hat sich vollkommen gelohnt! Ho preso questo tappeto dopo aver visto il video del kickstarter da cui è nato, il quale è stato molto convincente nel elencare tutti i comfort. Usando una standing-desk ho voluto provarlo e devo dire che agli inizi sembra scomodo, bisogna prendere abitudine prima di tutto a stare sul posto, nel senso che il tappeto copre un'area specifica e non si può muoversi liberamente da una parte all'altra della scrivania. Il problema fondamentale l'ho trovato dover continuamente spostarlo dal pavimento (e riporlo da qualche parte) nei momenti in cui invece lavoro seduto (la scrivania è regolabile sia per in piedi che per seduto). Alla fine l'ho reso perchè non mi trovavo, ma non vuol dire che non sia comodo per nessuno, penso bisogni abituarsi semplicemente.

If you get a standing desk, you’ll need a mat to reduce fatigue. Not just a flat mat, but one with contours to stretch your feet in different ways and move around with a sturdy material with some give for comfort. It’s not cheap but the benefits are felt straight away and you can use your weight to apply pressure in various places which almost acts as a massage. I stand the entire working day on this and happily recommend it.

Un temps d'adaptation à prévoir pour ceux qui ont l'habitude d'être assis de longues heures à un bureau. Prévoir également de l'aérer et surtout le laver pour faire partir l'odeur du plastique neuf qui est si forte que ça devient irrespirable dans la pièce.
