Gustaf's AllSorts Gourmet English Licorice Candy, 6.3 Ounce Peg Bag

These Allsorts were delicious and I would absolutely order them again when I am fancying a treat! The candies themselves were fresh and there was a healthy assortment of various pieces including cut licorice sticks, coconut wrapped pieces and more! If you enjoy licorice, you will certainly enjoy the various tastes of Gustaf's AllSorts!

I've loved licorice candy ever since I was a child. Any flavor. Any form. But AllSorts were, and still are, one of my favorites because so many different kinds of licorice come in one single package. Earlier this year, I ordered a bag of Wiley Wallaby's Australian AllSorts (all of their licorice is incredibly fresh and totally delicious), but the word "All" in AllSorts was a bit of a stretch as several of the kinds typically included in an AllSorts assortment were missing. So this time around, I decided to order from another company, and based on reviews, Gustaf's was my pick. Ack, what a disappointment! Not only was the bag tiny, but when I opened it, it was half empty (yes, I know the packages are done by weight). At first glance, the candy inside looked old, and when I tasted it, it was stale, very hard and practically crumbled apart. I have no idea how long it sat in a hot warehouse, but it was really not edible and a total waste of money. I rechecked the reviews and did find more than a few 1-star ratings from customers who had the same unpleasant experience as me; I only wish I'd seen them sooner. I'll definitely be ordering again from Wiley Wallaby's.

This is a really good brand of licorice and it's fun to eat them

I have purchased this candy before and enjoyed it. This time the pieces were less fresh and harder to chew. The assortment was not balanced either. I like this size because it li.its my portions.

Tastes great if you like real, slightly earthy, slightly bitter licorice. The other flavors are only perceived as sweetness, except for the coconut, which partners surprisingly well with the licorice. Hate the new packaging. 21st-century cheese.

I always bought the English licorice allsorts, but they've become so expensive. Thought I'd give this brand a try, because they were reasonably priced. Unfortunately, they were as hard as rocks - it was like trying to eat a brick. A big disappointment and will never buy them again.

Two stars because the parliament pins are delicious and the most licoricey candy I have tried. But the actual allsorts were got awful. One piece was good, it tasted like postatio and coconut. The first two pieces were good but the rest had a sickly sweet chemical flavor. The licorice was so stale the aniseed clearly fled long ago. It's a shame because these flavors are potentially good but the way it's all made... it's just off. I love licorice and this is the weirdest thing I have had. Maybe it's be good with more licorice flavor, less of the strange hybrid of cream, coconut and cleaning chemicals. I tasted both chlorine and pine sol

Meh. The bag says expires 10/23 - but tastes stale, off. Especially the little pariel coated ones. Yuck. Also, no little sticks of licorice I'm used to. No cream filled licorices either. They aren't awful, but 6.3 ounces for nearly 6 bucks. Super sweet, not much licorice flavor. All my opinion of course. Not to mention that it somehow got 'lost' for a week before arriving. Not for me. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. It's a shame because it did help you see who has been around the longest and who is a trustworthy reviewer. I've been doing reviews for over 25 years with Amazon - over 6,000 reviews posted, those reviews have been viewed well over 50,000 times, including well over 25,000 likes. Bottom line, I pay for all my stuff, just like you do.

It was stale and dry with faded colors.
