Easy to use little gadget, love it!!
What a fabulous little gadget!! It turns the aluminium capsules inside out every time and I use the coffee on my garden. So much easier than the recycling service that Nespresso offer and my roses appreciate the natural fertiliser from the grounds. Definitely value for money.

One of those simple yet brilliant products...
Who have thunk it? That a product comprising 3 pieces of heavy duty moulded plastic could be so effective? The rave reviews were spot on: this thing is brilliant - simple in concept and to use. Satisfying in use too. The empty aluminium capsules, once rinsed, stack together nicely and take up little space in my recycling bin. The coffee grounds may be either composted at home or recycled via the 'food waste only' bin. No more bagging, labelling and dropping my used capsules at a shop 6 miles away to be posted for recycling. On the face of it £10 for this simple plastic product seems a lot, but I've decided that I'm happy to pay a premium for something which has been well-designed, seems very robust and works really well. I now only wish Dualit offered a delux version that rinses the residual coffee grounds out of the pods as well ( it is a bit of a messy process).

Great little gadget
What a simple, yet effective gadget. Really easy to use and clean and it looks nice on the kitchen worktop. I used to package up my capsules and take to various recycling points. This is some much less hassle and much quicker. There's something really satisfying about putting in a used capsule and pressing the plunger down. I would thoroughly recommend this item.

Does what it says on the tin but a bit messy to use
I really like the idea of being able to recycle coffee capsules in the domestic waste rather than having to arrange shipping back to the manufacturer, This is a simple gadget made of good quality materials that does the job of emptying the coffee grinds out of the capsule so it can be recycled as metal. The only down side is that coffee grinds stick to the capsule and any residual liquid also sits around the neck of the container making it all a bit messy yo use.

Not perfect, but still excellent.
It's not perfect: I'm finding that around 10% of the pods I'm using it on have either not fully flattened, or have ended up inside the reservoir with the grounds, but I'm giving it five stars anyway because it's a brilliantly simple idea, it addresses a globally serious issue, it's fun to use, it feels chunky and robust, and some complete genius designed it to look like a coffee pod! I love mine, and I'm planning to buy several more as gifts. Some things are annoying if they're not 100% perfect; this is wonderful even though it's not perfect. Highly and enthusiastically recommended!

So simple!
Brilliant. So very simple and perfect for home recycling. Pop in the pod, push down. Rinse the inside out pod and pop it in your recycling bin. If you use aluminium pods you should buy one!

Nespresso capsule recycling made easy
We use this to remove the coffee grounds from aluminium Nespresso compatible pods, which we then wash through and put for recycling. This feels a lot more sustainable than the plastic based tassimo pods we used to use with our old machine which I couldn't find a way to recycle. You place a pod on the top of the canister and use the outer shell to push down which inverts the pod. Occasionally the pod gets stuck on the inside of the outer shell but there is enough room to easily pull it off. We now look for aluminium pods when buying coffee capsules as some have a plastic pod shell which this device doesn't work well with. We've been using this regularly for around 6 months now, washing it up each day we use it and it's robust and still working as expected.

Very useful bit of kit
I bought this little device because I could never be bothered to take the aluminium canisters back to teh Nespresso shop for recycling. I then changed to compostable Nespresso pods, but they can be a bit messy, the range of roasts is a bit limited and they can be a bit expensive. Then I came upon his device here on Amazon and thought that, at this price it was worth a punt. It's simplicity itself to use. Just put the pod upside-down in the top of the device, Pop the 'lid' on and ... push! That's it. The device turns the aluminium pod inside out, as the aluminium is quite soft and malleable. It deposits the coffee grounds in the hopper. All you need to to do then, is rinse the remaining grounds off the inverted pod, and recycle the aluminium whichever way your council wants. The coffee ground are popped in your composting bin (or your own compost heap). Job done! It is easy to clean. I don't know if it's dish-washer safe, but you can hand-clean it easily. A word of warning though. Some pods aren't aluminium, but plastic. This device 'will' crush the pod, but it makes a hell of a noise, and just splits the plastic pod in half and I fear for the safety of the device... Similarly, don't try this device on compostable pods. Ask me how I know! Both these and the plastic ones are too brittle for success. Overall, it's a cracking little piece of kit, and quite small, so you can usually find a place in the kitchen for it. Highly recommended.
