Purchased 2 to cool down a small living area and a bedroom. The wifi connectivity was a nice bonus but has been flaky keeping settings. The unit doesn't go into a fan mode after cooling to the set temperature so its quick jarring at night to have it kick on, run for a few minutes and then go silent again until it turns back on to cool.The window vent mount is awfully designed and doesn't keep the venting hose in place but nothing a good screw through the plastic couldn't resolve (the one the unit came with did nothing to help hold the hose in the window vent.)Otherwise no major complaints. Make sure it's on a level surface or the fill indicator will trip far before it's actually full (we're in a 100 year old home and it's not level everywhere.)Cooling is majorly powerful and the dehumidify setting is fantastic.The unit is also very visually appealing and looks modern and not out of place. Touch controls work very well and the remote, while basic, does a good job and has responded each time it's used.4 stars overall due to the lack of an "always on" setting that flips between cool and fan as needed and the issue with the window mounting.

It does a fine job of cooling and it is pretty energy efficient but I detest that I cant set it to leave the fan on when the AC is off. One of the reasons I have an AC in my bedroom is to help drown out the noise of my neighbors. On my previous AC unit, when the set temp was reached the compressor would shut off but I could choose to have the fan stay on for air circulation and some pleasant white noise. On this model the whole AC shuts off when the desired temp is reached. While this is a great function for energy efficiency there is no reason this cant be a setting I could change but thats not an option.

First off, it makes lots of cold air so they can't have it back. ;)The set of controls on the top of the unit, the app and the remote are all different. All functions can be controlled by the remote. The 'swing' can't be controlled via the unit's top controls and the app only allows temperature and fan speed to be controlled. Feels like they were designed by separate teams who didn't talk to each other and implemented by yet another team who didn't question their decisions.The air blows out more to the left than the right. The grill adjusts up and down but not left and right. Mine is on the right side of the room so I don't mind so much but I thought it was interesting 'feature'.There's nowhere on the unit to dock the remote during winter.It doesn't seem much louder or quieter than other portable A/C units I've used.I wouldn't discourage anyone from getting it but I'm not bowled over by it either. But like I said, as long as it makes cold air we'll get along just fine.

We had to empty our old unit every 1-2 hours on a very hot day. On humid days, it was murder.We've had this GE unit for a little over a week, and haven't had to empty it even once. If that's not enough, this unit is really good on a/c, but surprisingly cranks out cold air fast on the 'dry' function. (Temperatures this week ran into high 80s, with some humidity.)There are three pieces on the panel to adjust the width. A little latch locks the panels in place. The remote control works fine.Our only issue is that the shape at the end of the hose and in the window panel (oval), prevents us from using the panel directly under the window frame. Instead, we have to bring the panel to the inside of the house and secure it there. (We're talking about 1/2 inch difference.)None-the-less, the performance of this unit far surpasses our old portable unit. We are very happy with this purchase. The real test - dog days of summer - are still to come.

The AC works well! I control from my phone which helps! Not sure about reliability, haven't had that long.I'd recommend it!

The media could not be loaded.  Hooked up and started ac and immediately noticed a loud, constant chirping sound that gets better if I put something heavy on top of the unit. Something is loose inside. Maybe a belt rubbing against something. It is very annoying and will have to return the unit which is going to be a pain and will have to make do without ac for a while.Added a video for clarification. This can't be normal. If it is, GE should be liable for hearing loss lol

A bit noisy during the night. Overall I will purchase this item again. I live in Phoenix

Works very well and cools a large area! Very quiet and easy to install.
