I had a little trouble at 1st, I returned the 1st hotspot. The seller promptly reached out to insure me they were there to help. The 2nd came very quick. After setup it works great on Brand Master. Setup is not too bad, I did look at a lot of youtube videos and that helped, because this was my 1st hotspot. I would recommend this hotspot and the seller.

WORKS GREAT RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX

This is a hotspot with a Pi Zero and it has the MMDVM interface (Pi-Star). The programming instructions were one page, clear, precise and easy to follow. I had it up and operating within 20 minutes. I did go down a rabbit hole with the mini HDMI port that was included. Apparently the Pi-Star won't output to the HDMI, so you wind up with a HDMI port that isn't very helpful. While you could potentially install a web interface, if you knew Linux, I didn't bother. I just used the web-based interface. I'm sure the HDMI was built in on the Pi Zero that Aursinc worked from, and wasn't added to the device for functionality. Very pleased with this smaller-than-expected but fully functional hotspot. I use mine for DMR, but it comes programmable for YSF, D-Star, P-25, and others.

Make sure it is using the upgraded 2024 version of the Pi Zero. Both of the Hotspots I purchased came with the 2017 version of the Pi Zero. They will not run the new variants of Pi-Star such as WPSD. I ended up buying two new Pi Zereos to replace the older units to be able to run WPSD.

Worked for a couple of months, then stopped working. Was outside of the Amazon window for returns, but the included paperwork and the listing for this stayed there was a one year warranty. I tried reaching out to the company via the provided email over the last few weeks with no luck. Once I reached out through Amazon, I heard back from them within an hour and found I needed to adjust the offset. Once I did that, I had a working hotspot again!

I ordered four of these little units because I needed to set up networking bridge into DMR comms on four different type of radios. One for DMR, two on Fusion (YFM) and one that is an open source mode radio. These MMDVM units can be configured in that way. The programming software that is installed on the SD card is really a game changer for the radio market and operators like me that love to tinker and play around. Because of the open source mode it is easy to configure these units in just about any way you can imagine ... assuming you have programming skills and a lot of desire to go where no human has gone before ... if you mess it up ... just reinstall the original card programming from your back up file and have at it again ... they really are that easy and forgiving. For the money these are the best deal around bar none ... yes there are other "Bridges" out there and are really good ... but usually at many times the cost. I'd buy more and may do so as my network builds ...

I have 4 of these … excellent product and plan to buy more.
