Debated on buying
I really debating on buying this trash can for my kitchen. I have never spent so much on a trash can. But it was so worth it, and I'm so happy I made the jump. Very easy to clean. I use a stainless steel cleaner and a microfiber towel. Love how I can use my foot to open the lid and it slowly closes down. Also, stops my dog from snooping in the trash. Very durable and made to last.

Lid barely opens after a year of use
The unit worked well for about a year, but now there is a large amount of play in the mechanism connecting the lid to the pedal. The result is you step on the pedal and the lid barely opens an inch. The one star rating stems from the cost vs time used. I took it apart as far as possible but the key mechanism in the base seems to be sealed in plastic, no screws or clips. Any suggestions on how to repair this are very welcome.
