The fit was perfect, a bit on the flimsy side up top but performed exactly as advertised. Provides shade from the sun. I added it to my scoutmaster uniform as part of my hiking gear. I was also able to sew a patch on the front of it.

At the end of the day, anything that keeps you cooler and helps you avoid heat exhaustion or worse, sun stroke, is a major benefit. I play a lot of golf, in both hot weather and the rain, and this helps in both cases. The wide brim provides protection in both cases and it's light enough to roll up and pack without taking up a lot of space. Another benefit is that you can soak it and then wear it to assist in an even quicker cooling. I guess there's not a lot you can say about a "hat" but if you spend a lot of time outside in the warmer weather, it's one that's better to have and not need, than to need it and not have it. I did notice them on sale at Lowes the other day, but they were more expensive than they are online. You just have to wait a little longer for them to arrive. :)

Closer to a medium in size. No noticeable cooling effect. Didn't retain heat anyway. Provided shade to my ears.

This hat is actually comfortable on my head when it is cinched down to hold while on a boat. Folded down in suitcase and held shape great.

I tried the hat on and was happy with the fit and weight. Tossed the bag. When going to pack it for my trip, I noticed the fabric was torn in the back. Since I’d tossed the bag, it was too late to return!I was very happy with the hat, but check it over carefully before tossing the bag (I know, I should always do this!)

I'm bald, and this hat is so helpful for protecting my neck and dome. Lightweight, cool, and comfortable. Really love that it's machine washable, too.
