Roberts R9993 Portable 3-Band LW/MW/FM Battery Radio with Headphone Socket - White

I really wasn’t sure what sort of quality this radio would be , but I am very pleased with it. It is a basic radio with tuning controlled by a knob which is lovely and simple. With batteries you can have it wherever you want, although I understand there is a plug in lead for an extra tenner. Sound is good enough for basic radio listening. It has an extendable aerial so reception should not be a problem. Although it is not expensive it doesn’t come across as a cheap radio. A good functional radio which does what it should.

I had my eye on this radio for quite a while, but was abit anxious about how it'd sound. When I originally found this model it was only available in one colour silver, but then this year Roberts introduced two new colours black, & white. I saw the white on here and was sold immediately! It's so unusual, got it home & was amazed at the sound reproduction for such a small radio, but then it is a Roberts. Will be using it throughout the festive period. it hasn't been off since I received it! If your wondering about a mains adapter then I use a multipurpose switching adapter that I can change the voltage & polarity, this set takes 6V with a NEGATIVE Centre Pin. Or can be powered from 4x AA batteries. I am delighted! Perfect for radio 4... who needs DAB? :)

Initially it was a very good radio. Small in size, the perfect portable radio for my home. BUT the radio stopped working after just 3 months. It will not tune into a station. It just crackles, buzzes and emits a high frequency noise. It has not been abused or dropped. Too late to send it back. Bought this as it was a good price. As an OAP on a pension I cannot afford to replace it. Amazon Marketplace has become somewhere to dump faulty products and foolish people like me fall for the hype and cheap prices. ...... Never again!

Wanted this as back up for when we have no power, just to keep in touch with outside world. Not so bad but not a great amount of stations, but as long as we get something, is good in an emergency.

A great radio. This was a gift for my elderly mother. Unfortunately, this radio is being supplied with the incorrect batteries. The radio works with AA batteries - i was supplied with AAA batteries and its advertised with AAA batteries. This is incorrect - so do not do the deal with batteries. These AAA were £10 and no use with the radio at all. This should be supplied with AA batteries. So it's not a good deal at all. I am very disappointed as I can no longer contact anybody for queries and I have lost out on £10.

I bought my Mum the DAB version, but she just couldn't use it. Accessing the pre-sets was just too difficult for her. Ordered this one instead and she loves it. She listens to the radio at night and just wants to be able to turn the dial until she finds something she likes. It's battery powered so no need to find the right USB lead or power charger, just put 4 AA batteries in it and you're good to go. Battery life is brilliant, gets a few hours of use each night, yet it's still on it's first set of batteries since purchase 4 weeks ago.

This radio did not last long. I had to throw it out after a couple of months. My previous portable radio (Grundig - made in Taiwan) served me well for 30 years.

I've had one of these radios previously for a few years & loved it; unfortunately it got broken when having renovations done so was eager to replace it. I've used it both with batteries & power lead; I've found good quality batteries last for some time. The audio quality is extremely clear & it's just very easy to use & carry around as required. Highly recommend.

Je l’acheté pour écouter BBC Radio 4 longs ondes. C’était beaucoup à demander car le radio est petit, pas cher et je suis en France donc en principe hors zone pour capter le BBC... mais Roberts ont encore créé un produit d’exception. Je peux capter Radio 4 avec un qualité audio correct et sans tryde bruit parasite. Pour le prix c’est excellente. La réception des chaînes française est vraiment top sur FM. Super.

Je l ai choisie car je cherchais un petit transistor avec des grandes ondes mais j ai été déçue car il ne les captent pas

Puissance et son ne me convenaient Pas je n aimais pas cette forme rendu
