Savio RU2605 26-Watt UVinex Replacement Bulb - Fits Full Size Standard Skimmerfilters

We had installed our original UV light in July 2019....And forgot about it until this past winter when the pond water clouded. I thought it was some of the plantings that were decomposing. We drained the pond and refilled it without the plant containers. The water clouded again. I pulled out the instructions for the UV light and it said to replace the bulb every year. I order this and replaced the light -- easy to do. Within two days, the water was crystal-clear.

These is some confusion - at least on my part - between this product and the original Savio Univex 26 watt UV bulb for the "stainless steel" Savio UVinex system. I have always used the Savio RU2605 26W UV bulb for the "stainless steel system" - which is priced at about $119 on Amazon. However, when I saw this Savio "RU2605 replacement" product priced at $59 (half the price) I purchased two to give them a try. The first one lasted less than 60 days before it burned out. I just installed the second one and have no idea how long it will last. This "replacement" bulb is not the same quality of product as the original Savio RU2605 bulb. These bulbs are manufactured by LSE apparently as a "replacement" for the Savio RU2605 bulb. Like they say, you get what you pay for. Buy two bulbs for the price of one and get two bulbs that don't last half as long as one. Misleading and confusing advertising and product description for a poorly performing product.
