This little thing is something else. It is literally the size of my pinky finger, and I don't have huge hands. It is amazing how bright it us. Low, medium, high. All good for the situation. Then the map reading mode, which is very, very dim. Great for reading maps in the dark but not giving away your location, something I'm sure hunters would appreciate. The best mode is turbo mode. A higher that high setting. It kills the battery fast, something like around a half hour. But the light it puts out in this mode is simply amazing. Literally lights up the area like a spotlight. I could see the whole campsite with no issues, or my entire backyard. It may not last long but it is so bright. And with the head band and/or tactical patch, it is an awesome little hunting, fishing, camping, hiking companion.

I got this on a lightening deal on a whim because the last time I used my old headlamp outside it was starting to flicker. This one is great and more of a small 90 degree offset headlamp that happens to snap neatly into a velcro mount that rotates/tips up and down. Then the velco backed mount can velcro onto the single strap headband that Olight provides or what I think is a better option is to just velcro it to your velcro fronted tacticool baseball cap (yes you need to pull off that Punisher skull patch or flag off to do this). My only grip is that the velcro backing the light snaps into is much larger than the strap so it looks a bit odd and would definitely cause issues if you tried to ear it with most hats so I'm thinking of cutting the velcro mount down. This light is much lighter than my old 1860 powered headlamp and put out twice the light. I like that I can just use it as a 90 degree offset light that has a magnetic tail that will stick to steel surfaces so overall its more functional i every way than my old headlamp so I'm happy with the purchase overall.

Great light made by OLIGHT, I like the option that it’s 90 degree facing forward and makes it easy to light your path with different light changing intensity and now OLIGHT gives you the option to have a Velcro light holder patch for a hat or for a front jacket Velcro option to be able to attach the flashlight to the Velcro holder makes for another option to be hands free.One could also secure the light to anything thatthe clip could hold on to.I bought a second light, other light I gave it to other family memberBought another small pocket size OLIGHT light frontal light with a small led in the switch that tells you the amount of battery left until discharged.Other small OLIGHT FLASHLIGHT it’s a little more led power.I would recommend this product.

I run this light on my technical rescue helmet. The battery life is amazing and the brightness is outstanding.

This is Olight's entry into the EDC/headlamp/tactical light category; and like most offerings from Olight, it has some neat design features.First off, this light is small! Like shorter-than-your-thumb small. It's easily the smallest rechargeable headlamp I own. It's also very bright with a smooth, wide pattern. It comes with an attached clip so you can fasten it to your pocket, lapel, shirt sleeve ect. And, to make it a REALLY usable headlamp, it comes with a special adapter on a velcro patch, so you can attach it to your "cool-guy-tactical-hat". (or ANY velcro surface, really)It is also rechargeable, but it uses Olight's proprietary battery, so getting an extra battery leaves you with limited options. However, this battery style is needed to use Olight's universal charging adapter, which is really intuitive, and limits the number of cords that are needed for multiple lights.The user interface is pretty simple (there is only one switch, after all) and in typical Olight fashion, there are several modes that are accessed using combinations of long and short presses on the rubber coated switch. Without memorizing the manual, the modes can get a bit confusing. This isn't a deal breaker, but is something worthy of consideration.Now, with all these "great" points, there are also some drawbacks. First, the rubber-coated switch is flush with the top of the light. This is an ideal position, but since the button is flush, it can be very difficult to find and activate. (especially if you can't see it) If you're wearing gloves, this is made even more difficult.The second set of drawbacks is based upon the special velcro patch used to make the diminutive light a headlamp. First, the lamp ONLY rotates about 60 degrees up or down. This may not seem like a huge issue, but in use it puts the main focus of the light about 4-6 feet in front of you. This is great for walking, but if you need to read a map, cook, find something in your backpack, or any other "close-up" task; you will quickly find that the light is just a "bit too far away". Second, and this is a REALLY annoying issue, the velcro patch sticks to ANY even remotely fuzzy surface. (I have even got it to stick reliably to a knit stocking cap) This becomes an issue when you place it in a pocket, bag or pouch, as it will indiscriminately grab onto anything and everything, including elastic. The velcro patch is also very scratchy when used as a headlamp, so make sure you adjust is position on the included elastic strap carefully.The last drawback is due to the light's diminutive size. It's really "too small" to be useful as a handheld light. But, since it can be clipped easily to so many things on or about your person, this is less of an issue.With all that said, would I recommend this light? Yes. It has a flexibility and utility and thanks to the unique velcro patch, fills a particular niche in the headlamp community.

This was even more useful than I had hoped. I wanted something small for my EDC set of "necessities" and this seemed to fit the bill. And, having used it for a few weeks now, I can say it far exceeds my requirements.This little sucker can get VERY bright if you need it to, but even the low power (i.e. longer battery life) settings are more than adequate for most situations. But the thing that really surprised me was the headband holder/mount. I figured it would be one of those gadgets that sound cooler in principle than in actuality. Was I wrong. I've already used it on three or four "projects" (including an extended power outage) where having light "exactly where you need it" without needing a free hand, was literally game-changing.I bought this brand because I already owned (and loved) its bigger brother, but I find that I use this smaller one 90% of the time. Highly Recommended!!

It is very practical due to the size and head band. The biggest drawback would be the Velcro that can rub against your skin since the patch on which the light sits is 3x wider than the headstrap .
