Soft
I love this brand of fava beans, they are the softest I've found. The larger size is an added bonus. Some of the cans have mild dents but still edible and nothing is wrong with the inside.

Large fava beans - California Garden
They are not large, I have seen large those are medium. Many beans were broken and/or mushy.

Gotta have these in the pantry
I'd never really had Fava beans until I found them on the ingredient list for a Blue Zones cooking course recipe (offered on the Rouxbe online culinary school) for the Sardinian Melis Family Minestrone. Wow. They are so 'meaty' and delicious. As a whole-food vegan, I use a lot of beans for our protein, and these Fava beans add a nice option to Pintos or Italian Brown beans. I won't be without these.

Great canned beans
I have received my order yesterday and it was well packaged without any dents. I have opened a can today and cooked the beans after peeling them because it is easier to digest this way. The beans have nice texture, flavor and color. California Gardens is a reputable brand and I am happy that they still offer quality canned food products. Highly recommended.

They taste spoiled. YUCK!! CAN'T GET REFUND!
I have been a Chef for well over 30 years, and know what I'm talking about. THESE ARE SPOILED! The taste is so nasty I couldn't, and WOULDN'T swallow even one bite for fear of terrible food poisoning. Beans are just as dangerous as meat folks~ even more so in some cases. Can you say Botulism? Agriculture products often contain or grow botulism, which is way more dangerous then E-coli. Listeria, or Salmonella. It could have been anything, but there is something definitely wrong with these beans. There was NO English on the label, which was clearly shown in many, many pictures on the page I bought them from. They are from the UAE. I ordered and received these in less than 2 weeks, but I cannot get a refund. From now on, I will buy all food from local grocers, and never trust Amazon with ag products again. I CANNOT BELIEVE I CAN'T RETURN THESE FOR A REFUND!!!Damn red tape BS...
