It's a modernized fleiger type B.
It's an attractive and affordable fleiger type B. The WW2 ones are kind of ugly. The Orient has a bigger hour circle, bright white sharp hands, and a modern looking screw down crown instead of that big onion shaped crown. I like the thin white second hand. The strap with the stitching is mint and comfortable. Very happy.

First Orient, not my last.
I've been searching for an automatic flieger for a while and came across this gem. For my 7.5" wrist, this watch sits perfectly. Lume is surprisingly impressive, still glows enough for me to see it on my nightstand long after dark. While I liked the black leather stock strap, I felt like the aftermarket tan/brown strap I put on it is more fitting for the style. Fit and finish on this inexpensive watch is impressive. It even has a signed crown...something Seiko doesn't do until you get into the 5-600 dollar range. Would have preferred drilled lugs but hey, it's a 200 dollar piece. With it being a 22mm lugger, it might be a good strap monster for those who have multiple straps hanging around. Usually I'm a JDM Seiko guy, but this Orient has made me take a closer look at this brand.

Great budget automatic watch
Orient is a well-established brand. Great looking watch if you are a pilot watch style fan. Holds up well for swimming and snorkeling. Get a lot of favorable comments on it. Kind of so-so on the nylon strap that it comes with, but that is easy to change.

Beautiful watch, rough shipping
So the watch itself if very attractive. Its definitely a bit large and heavy for women's wrists, but I love this style enough to deal with it. I cant comment on the quality or accuracy till Ive had it a bit longer. The delivery condition was not what you'd expect for an expensive mechanical watch. It was shipped to me in one of those paper sleeves, and it looks like the box took a hit. Noticed a small scratch on the crown but otherwise the watch seems fine.

first automatic
it's absolutely stunning in person compare to what i expected, the watch is keeping time perfectly for the past whole week without having me hand wind or re-adjust time this probably is the cheapest while still reliably keeping time B-Urhen Flieger inspired watch you could possibly buy. normally i would pick the beige watch face over black, but the date background is still dead white on that one, making it look cheap due to lack attention to details

punches above its weight
a large size at 42mm, but wears smaller and looks sharp. highly legible face, and performs very well for an automatic in this price category. gains 5 to 8 seconds a day, and is easily synchronized daily because of its hacking feature. hand winding is nice to have, quality leather band is thick but flexible. it's a good looking timepiece.

Not sure if anyone nowadays would looks for a mechanical watch in times of ultramodern smart watches and trackers that go down to the level of deciding how long you need to sleep and be active. I was indeed looking for a flieger watch that would do just time keeping and nothing else. My expectation was that the device needed minimal intervention to do this and that too accurately. This is how I came across a Japanese marvel 'Orient', which was a mechanical option that had the date as well. It has been couple of months since I have been using it and all the while my time piece had been doing just that with utmost precision. Things need not always be good. Few things that could have been improved: Nylon strap looked very cheap an alternative for a fantastic watch. The designer would have had better ideas taking into consideration the colors gelled well. The user manual could have incorporated more details specific to mechanical models, which I found difficult to get. The steps seemed to be easy while being read but found it complicated to apply. Especially when the watch screw in itself has been held safe in a sort of lock from where you need to unwind before doing the actual winding that could be done on mechanical versions. All in all a wonderful piece to possess. Liking it.

This watch is very nice. Wasn’t crazy about the strap so I swapped it out for a nato strap. It keeps accurate time. Good value.

Perfecto!!
