Very sturdy base
This base is awesome. It took a little while to get it filled, but it's very stable. It holds our umbrella perfectly and we couldn't be happier with our new Purple Leaf umbrella, base and cover.

Just what I wanted !!!!!
Love my new cantilever 10x12 umbrella bought the recommended purple leaf base(a bit pricey) but didn’t want to cut corners to try and save a few bucks. Set up was a breeze for any one with half a brain. Did it myself even though they recommend 2 people putting the umbrella in place. Seems well built, color is perfect (navy) would totally recommend.

Works well for a year or two - then falls apart
Edit: After exchanging several emails, PurpleLeaf customer service did eventually make it right and replace my failed base. It really is a fantastic product, I just wish I didn’t have to question its long term durability. Full disclosure: I live in Northern Utah where it is snowy 1/3 of the year, and they’re on my pool deck. They get wet a lot. It could be that in your climate you have zero concerns on the rust. The base works well enough - I filled both halves with sand and water and it keeps the umbrella stable. The issue is they use cheap hardware in the base, that rusts out and then your umbrella falls over. So as long as you don't mind buying one every other year, they're great. If you expect to get more than 1-2 years out of it, you're wasting your money. PurpleLeaf does offer a 1 year warranty (one of mine did fail with 1 year and they replaced it) but I've had failures on all 3 of mine now. One I threw away in favor of mounting the umbrella directly to the concrete, one was replaced and the replacement hasn't failed yet (although is getting weak) and then this one. They are willing to sell me a new cross brace, but they want $80 + shipping and said it will take a month. No thanks - I'll be finding more durable solutions and a company that better stands behind its products.

Great value for the money! Glad I have it!
If I could give 10 stars to Puple Leaf for this umbrella base I would! It's that good and I would recomend this base if you're going to purchase the Cantilevered Umbrella to anyone and I think it's well worth the cost. When the first one arrive there was damage to the shipping box and sure enugh the base was cracked and the water leaked out. I notified Purple leaf and sent a picture of the damage. They were fanrastic about it and sent me a replacement immediatly at no cost no questions asked. NOW THAT'S GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! THANK YOU PUPLE lEAF!!! Reviews are a very valuable resource to us consumers and that's why I wanted to write this review so if you're considering purchasing one of these you will not be be disappointed and well worth the investment.

A good, strong umbrella base
I purchased the base to support a 12ft Purple Leaf circular umbrella. Prior to placing the order, I measured the patio area (twice) which includes a built-in barbeque and table and four chairs to ensure the coverage area, and nothing would impede opening and closing the umbrella. Once unpacked I found two screws missing from the base. I contacted customer support, sent them a few pictures, and the screws arrived a few days later. After installing the screws and tightening a few others I placed the base where I wanted it. I filled it with sand and water. Filling the sand takes patience as the holes are small. I used a blow dryer to disperse the sand further into the base. Once water was added the base is going nowhere as it must weigh over 300lbs. Apart from the missing screws, there are no leaks, and the base is strong and will support the large umbrella. Customer support was very responsive. I installed the umbrella a few days later (reviewed separately) and it works just fine.

Solid base
While this item was a little on the pricey side, it does the trick for our 10'x13' cantilever umbrella. Pros: comes fully assembled, so I just filled with water (checked for leaks) and attached umbrella. Because I plan on moving the umbrella and base into storage after the summer season, I filled with water and not sand. Water gives it plenty of weight to support umbrella. Con: No wheels and no easy way to move once you have it filled with water and/or sand. My plan is to leave it exactly where it is from spring-fall and move into storage during winter.
