Sometimes you need a non-electric solution
I purchased these to help maintain heat in my wetsuit for cold water scuba diving. We have some rechargeable warmers we use when we're camping, hiking, or whatever, but I needed something that could be submerged. When I tried them out, I was worried that the heat would be too intense. It was plenty warm, but not unbearable, and very nice after I was at depth for a few minutes. I'm glad they came in an eight pack so I can do repetitive dives when it's inconvenient to boil water between dives to reset them. When I'm doing longer dives, I can place extras in my wetsuit and activate another one when the first one starts to fade. The round ones fit really well on top of my toes without making my feet feel squished. I left them out in my toolbox in subzero temperatures overnight and they didn't leak or activate.

Lasted a long time before the chemicals separated or they burst.
Bought my first batch of them 7 years ago! The last one is still holding steady. For my needs they stay hot enough and I would say, on tender skin, they almost get too hot! Easy fix to wrap in a paper towel. Besides health needs I also use them for transporting baby chicks! Came back to buy another set!

What not to do
Great reusable product for emergencies. It does only last 30+ minutes depending on massaging it after activated. 1 major flaw which is more on the user is don't give it to a drunk friend and say crack this to activate. I just wanted to show off this cool product. But the drunk genius friend thought it was like a glow stick and needed to break the internal activator so he slapped it over his knee which caused it to explode all over me, him, and my truck! I regret offering him a ride to a show for his birthday but I also didn't give him an exact explanation that he only needed to bend the internal medal tab.He went out covered in the (luckily non toxic) fluid. Heard he glowed like a 15yrs old bath towel under black light at the club. And my truck is still covered in the chemical and smells of it. But starts to clean up with a warm rag. It will eventually fully clean off. I'm down one of the larger packets and we both have a story to tell. But don't use it for any impact sport like skiing. Have them for emergency survival and they do work for that of needed. .....

Difficult to Activate
UPDATED 11.12.24 - Once you figure out how to activate them, they work perfectly. Reactivating is MUCH easier than the 1st activation. TIP: Bend the metal disc backwards - they are slightly concave, so bend in the opposite direction - I read this on someone else's review when I was unhappy and it totally worked.I have wrecked 2 of the 8 by using a hammer to hit the small metal disc for activation....cannot get them activated in any other manner. Unfortunately, this causes them to split at the seams and the company says to not boil them if they leak. The other 6 I have not taken a hammer to YET!!! Once activated they do provide nice heat....if you can activate them - key issue! TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!!!!

Instant Warmth, Easy Reset: A Must-Have for Pain Relief and Travel
Quick Activation and Long-lasting Heat: I've had these warm compress gel pouches for a while, and they're fantastic. Activate them by bending a metal piece inside the bag and you get instant heat that lasts for a solid 15-20 minutes. I've used them for everything from relieving cystic bumps to soothing muscle and period cramps.Resetting is a Breeze: Resetting these pouches is pretty straightforward. Boil a large pot of water, gently lay the used bags in it, and let them simmer for 10 minutes. No need to stir or move them around. Once they're done, lay them flat on a kitchen towel to dry. I usually do this over my morning coffee—it feels effortless.Travel Tips: These pouches are great for travel but remember, you'll need boiling water to reset them. Simply pouring hot water over them in a metal ice bucket won't cut it—they'll harden up again quickly. And don't even think about microwaving them! If you're in a hotel, maybe room service could help reset them for a tip.Overall, these pouches offer great value. I'll definitely be bringing them on my next holiday. Highly recommended!
