La Sportiva Womens Spire GTX Waterproof Hiking Shoes

This is a great hiking shoe. I own several Sportiva shoes and they all have been comfortable and wearable straight out of the box. I am using them for the first time on a hiking trip in CO and they have been great so far. Sizing is a bit off, though. I wear a size 10 and thick socks, and the 10 fit perfectly. However, if you wear thin socks you might want to size down.

I love that these shoes are waterproof. They are extremely comfortable and have excellent traction. Don’t wear them into the house after going through the mud though, they hold onto the dirt. I like them so much I bought a pair as a gift for someone who has hard to fit feet.

Most reviews say that this shoe runs small, so I ordered a larger size. I usually wear a size 9. So, I have ordered 5 different sizes. I hope the size 7.5 - 8 finally fits me. I am currently wearing a size 8 with insoles, it is still too big.I know that once I get the correct size, I am going to love these shoes. They are light, water proof and comfortable otherwise. But, the sizing issue is real. It would be great if they had both the US size along with the European size. My size 8 shoes were equivalent to 39.5 European.Good thing my hiking trip to Macchu Picchu is in April 2023. So, plenty of time of het them adjusted.Update: returning the Size 7.5, still too big!

Others have reported problems with their heels slipping but I usually wear a wide shoe so didn't think I'd have issues. Wrong. Length and width were right, but those heels are wide. Otherwise, these are really nice shoes and super-comfortable--I wish they had worked for me. My only other comment would be that the laces seem cheap for the price of the shoe (and they're slippery, too).

I bought these after an avid hiker/mountain friend recommended them (his 4th pair!). They fit very comfortably with full cushioned merino wool hiking socks. I didn't want to take the shoes off! They seemed a bit large at first, but with the socks, they fit perfectly.

I have a narrow foot with a previous Morton's Neuroma surgery. I wore the previous version of this show for many years hiking and traveling on uneven streets and loved them as they were the most comfortable boot I ever wore, but the heel eventually wore out.I tried to replace them with these shoes which has the same description as my previous pair so I didn't even bother testing them for a few weeks. Finally, I walked in the house wearing them for a few days before my foot needed relief with ice for 3 evenings. They provided no support which I also enhance with medical orthotics. I learned too late to return them within 30 days before I learned how much bigger they are and I obviously cannot wear them.This is a large amount of money not to be allowed a refund. The shoes are still in new condition with all the tags. Perhaps Zappos and REI are safer places to buy shoes in the future!

I am an avid hiker and needed new shoes for a trip to Zion/Bryce. I tried several brands and couldn’t find the perfect shoes until I tried these. Amazing foot control, fantastic traction, so much support. Been putting 10 miles a day on them for the last week and my 48 year old feet have held up well.Splurge and get these shoes—you won’t be sorry
