better than the cheaper alternatives. a bit bigger though

So going to start by saying when I got this it was only £12 CRAZY! that is actually cheaper than the no name ones. I tried one of them first and it actually blew up instantly (It did work after a bodge fix but I do not trust it)Right now its £16 which is still crazy cheap for the quality. its very sturdy.Tested it with a Sony LMD 9050 and a Sony PVM-740 and it worked on both. feed it a 720p signal and you get a HD-SDI output. feed it a 1080p signal and you get a 3G-SDI output.What does not work is anything else. it will not do 1080i it would give no output for that, nor does any non HD resolutions. so no SD SDI support and could not test higher than 1080p but I doubt it can downconvert so purely a 720p/1080p deviceIt does show as HDCP compliant in the Nvidia control panel. But did not test it with anything that flat out requires HDCP like a TV boxIn conclusion my initial thoughts are its a very good value adapter. I would not pay the "RRP" for this which is like £66 or something. As the history seems to hover below £20 most of the time even hitting as low as £10 and for under £20 this is a must buyEdit: Have since tested with a 1080i source and sadly it will not convert 1080i. I have the cheap generic one that will work with 1080i but I dont really trust it with my nice gear

Firstly a word on my setup I have been recording 3 separate zoom instances for companies during the pandemic into Atomos monitors this requires me to have 3 machines running and 3 monitors mains powered I say this as there is a possibility this could be a ground loop issue from a device in the chain.Anyway this morning I went back to my home office fired up my machines to record some Zoom calls and found that my main PC and Atomos Shogun7 have suddenly decided to not be friends after about a month and a half of using the adapter day in day out.The Shogun 7's SDI 1 and HDMI input are completely fried, SDI 2 seems to work with my cameras. The adapter from this review is completely fried and the HDMI out on my AMD RX580 no longer works either.Seems to me that this adapter being in the middle of the chain is probably responsible, I would avoid this thing like the plague unless you cannot source another adapter and are only planning on using this thing in a absolute emergency.

Despite the information in the Amazon description, this does not work with 1080i signals. 720p fine and maybe 1080p (although I could not test)

Used with an old monitor. works as should no issues at all.would recommend. Arrived well packaged and on time.

Sadly this device only supports 1080P at a maximum of 25Hz frame rate. So no use if you want 50 or 60Hz which is the norm. The manual with it says so, sadly the description above doesn’t. Mine got sent back and I purchased a BlackMagic one.

Solid build qualityDoes what it says on the tin.The power cable is a USB-A connector so can easily be powered by battery and a range of plugs.Good value for money.Have only tested at home. Will use it in the field shortly and report back

Ignore the 'Supports 1080i' in description, it does not, You get a pink image.

J'avais une crainte que ces convertisseurs ne fonctionnent pas avec ma Blackmagic Atem Télévision HD , et bien non pas de soucis ..... et moins chère que les convertisseurs BM. Merci

Ich nutze diesen Adapter an meinem Beamer an der Decke. Leider hat meine Grafikkarte kein SDI Anschluss was dieser Adapter dann aber trotzdem Möglich macht. Da der PC eine Etade Höher als der Beamer steht und ich durch Treppenhaus muss gibt es bei mir keine Möglichkeit, ein HDMI Kabel zu verwenden. Ab 10 Meter gibt es im Normalfall probleme mit HDMI. Ich nutze daher ein ca 35 Meter langes BNC Kabel was auf beiden Seiten ein Adapter angeschlossen hat um sowohl am Beamer als auch am PC HDMI nutzen zu können.Dieser Adapter funktioniert problemlos und ist sehr gut verarbeitet. Schade, dass kein Stecker beiliegt sondern nur ein USB Stromkabel allerdings ist das auch wieder ok denn die Adapter werden bei mir einfach von PC bzw vom Beamer mit Strom versorgt und das klappt wunderbar. die Kabel sitzen alle sehr gut im Anschluss und dank dem Metall Gehäuse, hat man nicht das Gefühl beim anschließen etwas zu zerstören.Bildaussetzer, -fehler, Tonprobleme oder starke Verzögerungen konnte ich keine feststellen daher kann ich nur 5 Sterne vergeben und mich ab sofort über schöne Kinoabende freuen.
