Briggs & Stratton 697241 Carburetor Overhaul Kit Replacement for Model 697154

The only thing that would make this product better would be a replacement Jet. Everything fit perfectly.

Bought to rebuild carb, parts were all great, however what most do not know is special tools are needed, watched several YT vids and watched many change the seat, BUT when i attempted the same process NONE of their claims were realized. Need a thread tool. there is a kit sold here on Amazon C·T·S Carburetor Tool kit Replaces Briggs & Stratton #19332 use for Remove and Install The Needle Valve seat on a Walb LMT Carburetor that had I known about ot may have saved me a lot of head aches. Now the seat in my old carb is a mess trying all the suggested DIY claims. So, I had to buy a new Carb which i should ave done to start with

This kit, a little carb cleaner and some "quality time" will have your Brigg's powered equipment running in top notch condition. In my case the carb on my lawn tractor fell prey to the ethanol mix that passes for gasoline today. Good idea to write down the model/part number on this kit and put it with your owners manual; if you keep your equipment long the ethanol fuel wreaks havoc on the carb and rebuilding it will be a regular thing.The kit includes everything you need to rebuild the carb including the correct mounting gaskets and O-rings. No instructions are included but you can swing by YouTube and watch how it's done. B&S thinks highly of their little kit; for $23+ it's a little pricey considering what you get plus the fact it's made in China adds to the insult. However, the Amazon price is less than you'd pay if you bought the kit at a power equipment shop. With my Prime account I at least got free 2-day shipping and was able to get my tractor up and running in short order.

Worked as needed.

Only got 3 parts! Was packed incorrectly and I'm sure it was tossed around during delivery! All parts are small and the box was never sealed with tape around edges so it all fell out! Was refunded, and purchased parts directly off briggs and stratton website for a few dollars cheaper also!

This carb kit is ok but for what you get but is missing a key part. For this carburetor there's also an inner squiggly gasket which that surrounds the various ports and is the most common reason for carb failure failure. This kit doesn't include that part and therefore is not a good value. I don't recommend this kit unless you know the problem and it has the particular gasket. Most of the included parts you'll never use.

Worked great. Has a few extra parts for other engines that you may not need. No longer contains the carb jet, yet still priced at the same level. Took off a star for that. In my painful experience with non-OEM, it is better to go with genuine OEM parts.Checkout youtube for hints on how best to remove and replace the brass seat. It requires screwing a (e.g. drywall) screw into it, and some confidence, strength, and leverage. If your engine block / oil reservoir are flooding with fuel, you will really want to replace the seat, not just its corresponding float needle. If you have a gravity-fed (non fuel pump) engine, you will use the seat with the larger hole. And vice versa.

If you have a Walbro 4993 carb, this is the kit. There is a video on YouTube that shows how to remove the seat. The guy uses a bolt extractor to get it turning and it pulls right out. Worked perfectly for me. Today's gas is awful and if your engine sits for 6 months or so, you'll need this kit. OEM Briggs is definitely better than a knock-off kit. Engine runs like a sewing machine now!
