great lift, but be ready to crank
Installed in a barn with open rafters and didn't forecast that I'd need three cross beams for mounting (I probably should have, but thought it would mount verticle on the 2x4 rafters... it won't). Other than that, it was very straight forward and easy to follow the instructions. Works exactly like I expected, but I underestimated how much cranking in involved to hoist it... makes you wish you just spent a few more bucks for the one with the motor (but, for me, only twice per year).

Easy to install, but takes time and possibly more pulleys.
I just used it for the first time, and it did exactly what I needed it to do. Lift the hardtop and store it suspended in my garage. I will need to further balance the cables next time I lower the top back onto my jeep because the front of the top hangs lower than the back.I consider myself a pretty handy person, as I do most home improvement and auto repair by myself, but this took a bit longer than 1-2 hours as the manufacturer states. If you just have to install the parts that come with it, sure, 2 hours is probably good. If you have an open joist ceiling, you have to install backboards for the pulleys to mount to, unless you are extremely lucky and have a joist exactly where you need the pulley. If you have a sheetrocked ceiling, you will need to do the same, but locate studs/joists as well. If you want the crank mounted to the side instead of the rear of your garage, you will need to buy 2 additional pulleys. Or if your garage is like mine, and you have a header where your cables are to go, you also need to buy 2 ceiling/wall mount pulleys to direct the cables under the header beam. The crank wheel is very slow by hand, so I did as other reviewers suggested, and used a socket (5/8" I believe) on the end of my drill instead of the hand crank. The construction of the parts are solid. Nothing looks easily breakable. The strap is pleather padded where it makes contact with the hardtop, so it doesn't scratch it or rub to much. I'm glad I bought it, and it cuts down on time to complete the task of removing or installing your hardtop much easier and faster.I recommend this hoist.

Quality and easy usage
Really nice product. Not super easy install but also not that bad if you have the tools. Went quickly and only had to redo the wire once. Instructions for that part are a little vague but doesn’t take long to do over.It works exceedingly well and is super easy to lift with the gearing of the winch. You’ll probably want help getting straps in place before lift, I did it alone and it wasn’t easy. Also, I recommend first use is lifting top off anything other than the Jeep. Such as a stand or even the ground. That will help get the angles correct so it doesn’t lean/tilt.All parts are there and easy to identify.

Easy to use
Works well after installing. My rafter’s are 12’ tall so I had to replace the cable with a longer one.

Excellent simple hoist.
This is a very straightforward hoist at a great price. The instructions are pretty good, however, if you can't install the crank in line with the cables due to space limitations or things in the way, it can be mounted with a little creativity to crank from the side. I added 2 pullies to redirect the cables to the side wall. Voila! It did take a bit to get the cables balanced so the top hangs straight but now I have it dialed in and am happy.Note the crank gears are such that it will lift very slowly. I put a 3/4 socket on my drill and left the handle off. Works great.

Simple and makes it pretty easy to get the top out of the way
I was going to build a lift at the hardware store. I couldn't buy the parts for what came in this kit. The instructions are vague and disjointed but the pictures helped. It's geared very low, makes it easy to lift but it takes a while

Great lift
Easy to install, easy to use. One person can really remove or reinstall the hardtop by yourself! I have a 2006 Wrangler and it works great!

Poor Customer Service
Box came with wrong hook for my Jeep top. Called customer service was told they would sent the correct hook if I sent back the two incorrect hooks in the box at my cost. Cost $14 .18 to send the hooks back. Called customer service again - guy said don’t send the hooks- he would call back. Never called back. Received email saying I had to send the wrong ones back at my expense. Would not recommend Lange for anything moving forward.
