Have always used snare string.
Got a new Ludwig Supraphonic. Have previously used an Acrolite from 1980 that had string holding the snare wires. The new Luddy had Mylar straps. Did my preferred tuning and was getting horrible snare buzz around the edges. Replaced the Mylar straps with this string and pretty much eliminated the buzz. Not sure if the Mylar straps just transfer the vibration in the shell more and the string absorbs it more. Who knows, but for me it’s string on all my snares from now on. I’ve had the same string on my Acrolite since 1980 with no trouble. Can’t go wrong with anything on a Ludwig snare.

Breaks a little easily under heavy use but there is plenty in this roll to keep you going for a long time

good value, works well.
Agreed- it is thinner than some others, but -it is sturdy and you can double it up if you want to. You get 30 feet for only a little more than you would get 6 individual strands elsewhere. do the math- even if you have to double it up- if your normal cord is 6" each that is a foot per snare drum, so this is 30 snare drums at single or 15 snare drums at doubling the cord. That is 5 times as many as the little pack of 6 cords. You can also control the length since it is a continuous roll.It is important (I have had bad snare cord) however- it is only cord....lol

Being Ludwig, they are as good as any available !
I like these snare cords. Much better than the plastic strips. This is a good buy for the price and, of course, being Ludwig, they are as good as one can get!!

Thin, cheap, and breaks easily
This is a pretty blue color, that’s about all I can say for it. It’s very thin and is just an ordinary piece of synthetic string. When I tighten the snare wires down on the drum, the strings break! The off brand (and thicker) cord that came with some replacement snare wires I bought worked perfectly. I’m still a devoted Ludwig fan, but this cord is a big nope.

This is the best bang for the buck out there hands down
Been playing for 40 yrs and messing with many snare cords. This is the best bang for the buck out there hands down. Inexpensive. One role will last most a life time. It's a perfect diameter to thread thru small holes (Supras)... it seems strong and doesn't slip ! I've tried it on two Gretch high end snares and a Supra. Feel very confident.Play on! Peace

In MHO, best snare cord, especially for the money
This is the only cord that I will use on the my snare drums and those that I restore or detail.

Broke Within An Hour
I doubled the string up and it still broke after about 6 or 7 songs. Not good at all. I've never had any snare string or strap break that quickly in decades of playing drums.
