CERTFIED REFURBISHED but ZERO WORRIES
Purchased the "Certified Refurbished TP-Link AX6000 WiFi 6 Router, 8-Stream Smart WiFi Router", And I had concerns about a refurbished item, so I purchased the extended warranty. However, this item is working perfectly and is just the boost I needed for my network. YOU DO NOT NEED WIFI 7 IF YOUR INTERNET SPEEDS TOPS OFF AT 2GB coming into your home. Don't go out and spend more money on a WIFI 7 router. What you need is to upgrade your Wifi 5 or earlier model Wifi 6 router to a new Wifi 6 router rated AX6000 or higher. THAT alone will increase your wifi speeds.

So Easy to Set Up
TP-Link has been around for a long time -- it was one of the first brands I purchased when I was first learning how to set up an Amazon Echo Gen 1. From lights to plugs, and now my second router, everything is a breeze to set up. I was setting up the Archer AC600 Wi-Fi 6 Router. It took about 4 minutes after having it out of the package and reading the Quick Start manual. Tip: Don't start pushing the 3 buttons (WPS, Wi-Fi, and LED). If the light on the top of the router is solid blue then everything is working. From there I chose to set up online. For this you will need the name and password to your modem-- check the sticker on the bottom. I was replacing my only router so I didn't have an internet connection from my old dead router. You can do a Basic set up which will take only a couple of minutes after you update the firmware. The Advanced is at best for someone like me who knows a tiny bit about a router set-up. Again, very easy. I chose to buy the manufacturer refurbished product because I have only had one issue with a refurbished and it was replaced immediately.

Excellent performance, and excellent coverage
Replaced my year old DLink router with this one. Coverage with my other router was meh, didn’t get good coverage through the house and my download speeds were also lower than they should be (1Gbps fiber). Bought this router on a whim, and really glad that I did.I haven’t had any disconnects and my download speeds have are consistently 1014Mbps down. Coverage has also improved greatly, everything has full or near full bars compared to before where walking away even 15 feet would kill speeds. Couldn’t be happier with this AX6000

Not Starlink friendly
The unit itself is an easy setup and seems to put out huge numbers but it's impossible to set up easily on Starlink. I bought it because it was highly recommended for Starlink as a replacement. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but it's not as easy as the online instructions say it is.

Fixed my issues
I’ve been having all sorts of issues with my old Time Capsule as well as Spectrums routers. After some research this one popped up as highly rated and affordable. No regrets.

Security Risks with refurbished router bound to another owner
First, this router was easy to set up through the Tether (TP-Link) app, and my internet connection is great. Unfortunately, it's bound to another TP-Link ID. This means the certified refurbished AX6000 router is bound to a different owner. A factory reset won't fix this. The previous owner or TP-Link support must change ownership.I reset everything several times and spent hours troubleshooting until I finally contacted TP-Link support. An agent told me that they'd need to forward me to someone else who would open a ticket for resetting the ownership. I eventually got a TP-Link email response asking me to provide screenshots of the issue along with an image of the back of my router's serial number and my purchase invoice. None of the TP-Link support agents were able to unbind the previous owner's TP-Link ID from the router, but my support ticket was escalated to the engineering team.My initial thought was that it would be no big deal, so what if I can't use certain features? My upload speed went from 0.09Mbps to 11.07Mbps, and it has an excellent WIFI range. However, the security risks aren't worth it. The previous owner might still have remote access via the TP-Link cloud service, which would allow them to monitor and control the router's settings. They could potentially change network settings, WIFI passwords, and security settings. They might be able to push firmware updates or changes that could affect performance and security. They might be able to see connected devices and monitor traffic, thereby compromising privacy.Any previous ownership settings, such as TP-Link ID binding, should be removed before selling this item as certified refurbished. I sincerely hope this was an isolated quality control oversight and that nobody else unknowingly has this same problem. I didn't realize the ownership issue until I decided on a whim to link my router to Alexa skills. I would suggest logging in to the router with the IP address and going to Advanced > TP-Link ID > Log in to bind the router to your TP-Link ID, and check for this message, "You cannot log in to this router because you are not a manager of it. Please ask the owner to add you to the managers list". I regret this certified refurbished purchase and wish I had purchased a new router instead.Update 07/02/2024: TP-Link engineering support successfully unbound the previous owner's TP-Link ID from my router. It was a huge hassle, and the vulnerability was not worth the few dollars saved by purchasing certified refurbished.

Works great!
I previously purchased and shared a brand new unit of this model with a roommate. It stayed with her when I moved out and I decided to try buying refurbished. With Amazon's return policy on these types of items, I felt comfortable testing it out. Absolutely worth it. It's a great router, works the same as brand new for a better price and it feels good giving a refurbished product a second chance. I moved up to the mountains and this thing gives me wifi access for the entirety of a four story house, including the bricked basement. It's a real game changer when cell reception here is absolutely terrible.
