Great traction with small spikes
Product was marked down, so a good deal

Great Product
If you’re an avid hiker in the winter, these are a definite purchase that you will need. They pack easy and go on the feet very easy. My only suggestion would be for the company to throw in a canvas bag to travel with.

Great traction
These fit perfectly, they add a good feeling of safety when walking on ice. Only used them a couple of time, so far so good.

Tiny bit noisy, but seems great so far
This is my second attempt at purchasing crampons on Amazon. Although these are significantly more expensive than other options, I think it's worthwhile. The design of the rubber gasket seems sturdy and the sizing is spot on. I wear a women's size 7 and the small fits well in terms of the rubber form. These do make a slight clanking noise when I walk (almost like I have spurs :-) This may be the design, but it's also possible that I am on the smaller end of the size range for a small which means the chains are more loose on the bottom than for someone with a bigger shoe. I adjusted a bit by pulling the rubber part higher up on my boots which seemed to help. Still a slight clanking noise, but not as noticeable. Since I use these to walk the dog, it's not a problem. Can't speak to durability yet as I've only worn them for a say, but hoping they don't break and/or rust. The last pair that I bought were really cheap and in addition to not fitting properly, they rusted within one wear.As far as slippage, these are great! They're not ideal on cleared sidewalks, but you can still walk in them. On packed ice and snow, they felt very grippy. I crunch right in and I felt very secure! It's nice not be worried about falling over while I'm keeping an eye on the dog or throwing the ball.

I'm really happy with my purchase
I'm really happy with my purchase. I bought these as many hikes out in Hawaii are often muddy, have numerous water crossings, and I am not the most coordinated person. I was advised that adding spikes may help me gain traction, thus making the hikes more enjoyable and reduce the number of times I end up on my rear end. I often lag way behind because I slip and fall, or I'm overly cautious, trying to avoid falling. Having spikes allowed me to keep up with my group and made the trip more enjoyable and reduced the number of times I toppled. This week, I did a hike that with spikes that I'd done a year ago without. Prior, I ended up on my butt almost every ten feet. This time, only once. The spikes definitely improved my traction and made the hike much more enjoyable overall. The hike is notorious for deep mud, multiple water crossings, and generally treacherous, footing. With spikes, I kept up fairly well (I'm a little slower than most, I've accepted this fact. No footwear or accessory is going to make me the ultimate hiker) and made my hike and the trip more enjoyable for everyone involved. Unfortunately, I fall between sizes. I need a small when it comes to trail runners and a medium for hiking boots. I'd have to buy two separate pairs to have an appropriate fit for both my trail runners and hiking shoes, so that's a little disappointing, hence the four-star review. But, overall, the product itself is great and I would buy again. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a little more traction on the trail.

4yrs, and have been fantastic
If they still make em like they did 4yrs ago, two solid thumbs up! I had messed around with several brands of traction devices, but these made all the difference. Back in the woods off class 6 road, property gets real slick and trip out to shed on slanted property is especially tricky. End up with solid ice yearly at some point (now). A little rough wear on atv plastic, but been good on the 1025r tractor mat/pedals. Bad leg/foot for the past couple years and have hardware in foot/leg. I have flip down ice spike on walking cane. Always a little leary when walking on solid ice, but these have never given me a reason to be, as others did.

Awesome traction, good durability, but ice balls form
These pull on easy, plus have great traction on pure ice, hard pack snow, and other conditions. They are extremely durable, as my first pair is going strong after 5 full years. Seems as good as ever. I did buy a backup pair so that my wife and I can go out together. I had a cheaper brand previously that wore out after just 2-3 years - poor rubber. They pack down fairly small, but they are hard to stash for runners when you don't want them on. When running bring a small waist pack for putting away, or when hiking you might already have a small pack. One problem, however, is that frequently a small ball of ice builds up under the metal plates with the holes, causing an unpleasant feeling. This is where the chains are connected. I'll clean them, and they will often reform ice balls within 5-15 more minutes. Not in all snow conditions, but usually in older snow, or maybe wetter snow. Another Hillsound model does not have this weakness, and has a design with no small holes that permit ice to build up. Highly recommend that design if you can afford to spend a little more.Would buy this model again and recommend.

Heavy duty. Am able to walk on thick ice without any problem- brilliant for Aberdeenshire winter weather.

Good job but chain links open up
Good job, but some of the chain links do open. Take a multi tool with you to be able to repair the links

Did not last. No reply from seller or manufacturer.
While they lasted, these cleats were great. After about 1 month one of the links broke at the heel.We reached out to Amazon who said they would contact the seller. No reply. We reached out to Hillsound, a couple times. No replyWe reached out to the seller ourselves. No reply. The warrantee means nothing if you can't reach the company.AVOID this product. You will not hear back from anyone to honor the warrantee if anything goes wrong. I would have expected better support on this from something with such great reviews. That was the reason for buying them in the first place.

Icy sidewalks will never be an issue
These things are easy to put on your boots, they are easy to adjust and you will walk on ice like it is pure dry concrete. I go by others like a rocket when they are trying to get a grip on icy sidewalks. Best traction device I ever owned. However, when you get inside a building, you'll need to take them off. If you are walking on a nice floor with no carpet, you will slip as if, how ironic, you were walking on thin ice with only your business shoes on.5 stars because they are easy to put on and easy to take off, and when walking on ice, they offer perfect traction. Very, very happy with this purchase.

Wear to begin (if you want traction) :-)
Easy to put on or take off. Deep tread works well on full ice.Sizing is a real problem. The only way I can explain it is trial and error, until you find a fit. Good luck if you want for several different shoes or boots. But the are solid and are true traction aids.
