I really liked this book
I really liked this book, not as evil and creative as I expected, but good enough. I love the detailed pictures and good descriptions, it really shows you how it's made. I found it quite inspiring, even though I had already found most of these ideas online for free. That's why it doesn't get 5 stars. But all in all; a good and inspiring book! I would have loved to write one in my language, but I guess it would have been too similar to this one. :-)

Half of the ideas involved camouflaging a container to look like something, like a rock
Its alright.. but its not exactly what I was expecting. Half of the ideas involved camouflaging a container to look like something, like a rock, or a pinecone, or a stick, or a log, or etc. I've seen most of these caches already and they weren't that exciting when I found them. However, there are some cache ideas in there that are worth all the rest put together and I will be using those ideas. The other part is that I was expecting a little more "How-to" help in the book. It vaguely goes over some steps, but doesn't really get into the specifics of how to do This or That. For example, it would be like baking a cake, telling you the ingredients, without giving you the baking instructions. I was disappointed, i though it would have more actual content, but there defiantly are things in the book that are worth paying the money for.

Devil Caches are Just That
I read the book, and while the first several pages are really about geocaching in general, the part on the Devil Caches provides a good description of the caches, and even how to make them. Not surprised that I have run into many of them, and even used a couple myself before finding the book. But I enjoyed the complete description of geocaching, and how to do it, which is the correct lead in to the subject matter. From the title, you might think this book is mostly aimed at experienced geocachers, but it should be required reading for new cachers, as it would save them much heart ache.

Too US-Centric
Given that geocaching is a worldwide sport, I found this book too US centric in this types of hides it proposed and the terminology used. A little more effort on the authors' behalf contacting their wide network of international geocachers for contributions to the next edition of the book, and this would be a fabulous resource for cachers everywhere.

Simple Introduction to Geocaching for Beginners
A very good primer on geocaching. Lot of reading before you get to the pictures at the end. No photos, lots of good line art. This book might be better in hard copy than in Kindle as I had trouble enlarging picture pages to read the print. It was light reading.

Well done and informative
Contains quite a bit of useful information. The title doesn't properly convey what this book is about, as the 101 cache descriptions are only part of what's covered.

My husband is an avid cacher and is always looking for new ideas. He has enjoyed this book. It has been a good resource.

Meh.
There are some good ideas here, but many are derivative of each other, and some are downright bad ideas for geocaches. Not very many unique ideas here. Its a good bathroom book, but not anything I'd consider a useful tome if I was going to go out and hide a cache.

Missing text
Great idea but several of the pages have had the image imposed above text and therefore end of sentances/paragraphs missing, eg pg 88, 94.Shame as would have been great.

Not really worth it
Unless you're a novice cacher don't bother. Lots of similar ideas on a similar theme rather than 101 proper ideas.

Good Book for New Geocachers and Experienced Geocachers Alike
We consider ourselves rather experienced geocachers, but there were things in the 101 Devil Caches book that had never crossed our minds. This easy to follow and entertaining guide is sure to get you some favorite points on your future hides. The common phrase and acronym guide was a nice touch too. I would definitely recommend this book. It is an excellent resource for new geocachers because it illustrates how to think outside the box when searching, and opens up the world of possibilities to them. For those with more experience, it is certain to inspire more creative future hides. It is creating quite a stir in our geocaching community, so I can't see what new hides will be coming out this year!

Evil Caches
This was a gift for an avid geocacher, who is now looking forward to using some ideas to create some evil caches of her own!
