Alright, not a self defense professional or anything like that and not offering any sort of advice. You are responsible for yourself only and no one else. A tactical pen like this is a interesting tool to have because it serves all the functionality of a regular pen and is concealable; most people probably wouldn't be able to tell it is a tactical pen even if it was partly concealed unless they got a very good look at it. There are quite a few strikes that could be used and it could be used to gain leverage due to the metal body being very sturdy. The tip of the pen certainly will break glass with ease. This tool would compliment a edc nicely just as an extra tool to have, learn a few strikes/patterns/areas to apply it for leverage and it will be a nice tool. The value given exceeds the current price at the time of this review. I may get one for my father.

I really like how this pen feels sturdy, it is strong and I tested it on glass. it did eventually break the glass, but had to put good effort into it. Other than the big effort to break glass, its a great pen.

Writes well, and great for protection

Overall product suggests pen is built well for the price being asked. Manufacturer states of aluminum material but it maybe otherwise. Pen does seem well built and insert writes well and legible. Looked up insert replacements in which there seems to be a decent selection. Twist style to write is smooth but bottom barrel to replace insert seems to come apart rather easily. However, there is quite a bit of lubricant inside. Have not tried the “glass” break point on top of pen. Maybe will try, but other reviews suggest poor quality and low confidence level of usage. Overall, for $10 bucks- it looks nice, it writes, it’s metal…. Payed worse on other things.

Nice pen. Writes well. Pretty heavy so wouldn't work in a shirt pocket.

This pen will last a long time.
