The item itself is 5 star, but the screws they provide are terrible, especially if you don't have a powered scredriver. They stripped and had some of them half in and then had to remove them. What a complete nightmare! I ended up using drywall screws that went right in. This job took me over 2 hours because of all the probs with the screws. If I had just used drywall screws from the start it would have taken 15 minutes to complete. The product works great and looks nice too. It was easy to adjust the force of closing and I liked how smoothly it works. PLEASE GIVE BETTER SCREWS!

My storm door was fine if not obnoxiously heavy to the point where it felt like it would slam someone's foot off if they didn't leave fast enough. It did the job though and I REALLY didn't want to have to replace the whole thing. After getting the house painted though I got an itch to refurbish this beast of a door and along with the handle hardware, this was one of the parts that had to get swapped. Even got a deal with a 'Used - Like new' which was literally not opened and 20% off the list price. Noice. Install was easy. I used a power driver to remove the old hardware and install the new pieces. It came with everything I'd ever need. Took all of 8 minutes to replace both the top and bottom closers with fine-tuning. It was an immediate relief to have the door close much more slowly with enough force to still latch it shut properly. The hold-open button is amazing. You don't realize how much you'll use it until it is there. The old-fashioned clip never held well and I'd have to clip both the top and bottom closers to reliably hold my door open. I just held it open with my arm so much I got used to it, but now I tap the button with my foot and it stays until I nudge it shut again. My only minor complaint is that my door doesn't open as wide as before. I'd get a full 90° before with the old closers and I think this reduces the maximum angle by 10-15° easily. Not a huge deal, just something I noticed. The improvements far outweigh this con and I'm super happy with this.

I recently had new patio doors installed and they did not come with door closers so of course I headed to Amazon to research my options and found these Touch ‘n Hold closers which ended up being a perfect choice! Installation was easy, I just measured and marked where to drill the holes. After drilling and installing the screws, it was just a matter of some fine-tuning with the adjustment screws to get the doors to close exactly as hard as I wanted. The total installation of each closer only took a few minutes, which is great. The best part about these closers is the fact that they have a button to hold the door open. All I have to do is open the door, tap the button on the bottom closer with my foot, and just like that the door is held open exactly where I want it. To disengage the hold, I simply open the door an extra few inches and then it closes again, so easy, no more messing around with sliding a metal plate pressing against the cylinder which used to be so frustrating! The closers have been installed for about 4 months now and are working perfectly! I highly recommend these to anyone who needs to either add or replace a closer on a door. They work great, are easy to install, and I love the ease of holding them open with a tap of my foot. These are the ones to get!

These are well made, heavy duty, and will close your door quickly and effectively. Good price point, and they do what they're designed for. bigger than other cylinders, the hold button works well, just click on it, and when you need the door to close, just push on the door slightly. The function does not work on windy days.

I recently purchased a home and considered replacing the very old storm doors. Instead, I opted to make some updates to my existing doors, including replacing the pneumatic closers. These only took me minutes to install. The instructions were clean and easy to complete. I was thrilled with the soft closure and the tap lock is so easy to use! Last night, approximately two weeks after install, the tap lock started to catch/lock on its own. The door is used 6-10 times a day so not a lot of use. It doesn’t happen every time I open the door, but if it continues, I will reach out to seller.
