Nice Rod Holder
I didn’t think I would find a rod holder that I like as good as my Scotty, but it looks like I did!

Versatile base, adequate rod holder
I did a lot of research before eventually deciding on the RailBlaza versatrack and their accessories. As for the mini port track mount, I like that it is versatile and can accept an array of accessories. It is easy to put on, take, off, lock, and unlock. The sellers description said it is not to be used for trolling, and I see that now after having used it a few times. I would not trust the lock system to a big fish. But I knew what I was getting into with that due to the honest description of the product. The only minor inconvenience I experienced was that the rubber washer on the bass was too thick to allow sliding it into the track. Not sure if that is by design in order to allow it to work securely with other railblaza tracks? Either way, no biggie. The rod holder itself does what it is intended to do: adjustable angle, strap to secure your pole, and sleek profile. Again, the entire system is not super sturdy, so I wouldn't trust it to a big fish, but it's fine for securing your pole as you're paddling to the next spot.

Quality of material is high--usability, not as smooth or convenient as others makes
I've been trying different Rod Holders, from super inexpensive (about $10) to about $45, and these Railblaza's are right in the middle.Overall, the material quality feels good, however it is not as convenient to use as three other holders I've bought. To adjust the angle, you have to really undo the screw quite a bit, adjust, and screw back down. Definitely a two handed adjustment process. Ideally, I guess that you'll pick a position and just leave it there instead of adjusting. To rotate is even a bigger challenge---move the plastic rentention piece (which took a minute to even figure out), pull the holder COMPLETELY out of the adapter, set back, and re-engage the locking clip. Even the cheapest holder I've got is easier to rotate. But, despite the poor ergonomics, the unit is STRONG. The plastic/resin is high quality and you can feel it.I'll have to eventually order the railblaza LARGER unit, the holder 2 to see if it's better.

Must have on a kayak
I have a fishing kayak and it has two holes behind the seat where I can store my rods. Not convenient and this product allows me to change lures in front of me. I can rest my rod in front of me when I adjust my position on the lake. I like the rubber strap so I can secure the rod if I'm doing something while keeping my lure in the water. Great product!
