Excellent transfer switch
This works great. for small to midsize generator. having the two amp meters is very useful when you trying to understand the draw on the various breakers. In fact, on one of the circuits with what I thought would be limited amp needed when we transferred the switch over to home was it had a huge amp draw which didn't make sense to me (lights only). Upon further checking we had an automatic clothes iron plugged into the circuit that would come on when the socket went live. Hence the huge initial draw. Would never had noticed otherwise. The install was easy with very clear instructions. Getting all the wires through the pvc conduit is somewhat difficult. Anyone who has a basic understanding of wiring/electrical can do this themselves.I had a friend buy the exact same transfer switch.

Buy This!
I spent a lot of time researching manual transfer switches trying to find the right one for my needs. What I needed was an outdoor rated unit that I could hook up to the 30amp outlet on my 4,000 watt generator in the event of a power outage. Surprisingly, there are not a lot of choices when it comes down to an outdoor rated unit. This was one of two that I found on Amazon with the other one having a reputation for bad switches. Not the kind of thing you want to deal with in a power outage.Let me tell you, the Reliance manual transfer switch is a high quality unit using high quality materials. Even the steel on the cabinet is thicker than expected. The switches seem very durable and the breakers are of the same style and quality you'd find in your home's electrical panel. The locking cabinet panel was a nice touch but probably not necessary.I'm no electrician but the installation was not complicated but still not totally easy. It seems that feeding fourteen 10 and 12 gauge wires through 3/4" conduit with two 90 degree angles is not as easy as it sounds. In fact, you'd be hard pressed to squeeze one more wire in. That's how packed it is. Still the overall installation took me 3 hrs and I am very happy with the finished results. Now, in a power outage, I am able to run my refrigerator, lights, TV, and my computer with confidence. Sure beats the heck out of tripping over extension cords. My advice is to buy this unit and not look back. You can thank me later.

Needs a larger conduit
The transfer switch does pretty much what it is designed to do. The complaint that I have is that it is not possible to use the supplied flex conduit and fittings and get the wire for all 6 circuits though that conduit. I was able to get the wire for 5 circuits, along with the neutral and ground through the conduit, but just barely. The conduit fill probably exceeds NEC guidelines. The supplied wires are not excessively long either. I was able to connect into the main circuit breaker panel, but had only an inch or two of excess wire on some of the circuits, because I had to route them through a wireway below the circuit panel. Had I needed to connect to one of the breakers further up in the main panel, the wires would not have been long enough.

Nice, solid product
When you get this product and attempt to open it with the keys it won't open. I discovered that the wires inside the lid are blocking the slot that opens the lid. Simply unscrew the 2 screws that secure the lid hinge, move the wires and the lock works perfectly. After you install the transformer the wires are in place and out of the way and the lid closes and locks easily.

Nice power transfer backup panel
I have been nervous about the power in my area going off when the weather is bad and now after installing this Pro/Tran2 panel myself my home now has a backup power supply using the portable generator I own.If you have any skills with electrical work and don't mind spending a day prepping the master power panel for this job the actual install will take less than 2 hours from beginning to finish. I want to be ready for the eventual power outage by having my home setup for power from an alternate source and only spent a few hundred dollars for this panel.

Transfer switch installation experience R360A
Package arrived well packed. Was immediately impressed with painted finish. Their are stamped 1/2 , 3/4, and 1 inch knock out fittings near the bottom on both sides of the panel that give you the option to use 1 inch conduit and required fittings. That is why I am writing this review. I can hardly believe that a company would go through the effort to produce a very well designed transfer switch and then skimp at providing 1 inch flex and liquid tight flex and fittings. I want to emphasize as previously commented by other reviews that it is almost impossible to get all provided wires through the 3/4 inch flex conduit. Luckily I had some wire pulling compound from a previous job that enabled me to squeeze the wires through. Several times during the one and a half hour I struggled with this dilemma I almost stopped and considered going to the hardware store, which in my case is 22 miles away. Providing 3/4 inch fittings thay made something a nightmare when 1 inch fittings would have made it a breeze. Hence the reason for the four stars instead of easily deserving a five. I cannot emphasize this enough please take the time to order 1 inch fittings to make this a much easier installation.

Transfer switch
This is a great transfer switch. Was easy to install with little electrical know how. The only problem I had was that it was difficult to pull the wires through to two end connectors. Went through the conduit just fine. I had to drill out the end connectors with a 3/4 inch spade drill bit. After that wires pulled through with no problem. Be sure to balance the load between the two sides. Recommend that the two 20 amp breakers are used for high wattage utilities such as refrigerator/freezer and furnace if no used as 220 circuit.
