Q: does theis tape have adheasive on it?

One side of the tape has adhesive which is activated by water.

Q: Is this tape used to hold marquetry pieces together while assembling wood inlay designs?

Yes, this is the tape to use for holding veneer pieces, including marquetry pieces, together during assembly. I used it for piecing together larger sheets of veneer, but can be used for marquetry as well. The tape is 3/4 in wide, perforated, and only requires a little moisture to activate the glue and secure the pieces. You should NOT use this on the face of marquetry pieces as you will be left with adhesive residue. Low-tack painters tape is the preferred product for the top (face) of your pieces.
