Can the pinch grip be installed with the hexagon pattern facing inwards or is it designed to face outwards?

One of the pictures actually shows them facing inwards and all the other pics show them facing outwards. Yes. they can be installed either way. However, the non-hexogon side it pretty slippery so I am not sure how well it would work when set up that way.

What proof is there to show that this seller is selling real ones?

No, i have it for a quite long time and you don't need to lubrificate it at all
