The perfect jug to recyle oil!
Great container, durable and well made. This is my second. The first one I bought is still working well after many years and it has sat in the sun for many years with no cracking, fading, or leakage, etc. That has impressed me and makes it so I dont' have to store used oil in my garage or shed. I loved it so well, i bought another! They are just the right size to hold plenty yet easy enough to take to the oil recycle drop off and not have it leak in my truck!

Awesome little used oil container!
Works great as intended! Sure you can use your old oil jugs to put your used oil back into but the wide mouth on this jug is great! The quality was good, it's about as thick as a gas can. Easy to use with no leaking( I have seen so far) when transporting oil.

Great Do-It-Yourself Mechanic Accessory
If you ever plan on changing a vehicle's fluids, you should have at least one of these if not more. I have two; they work great. They are a wonderful way to store fluids for transportation to a proper facility for recycling. Works for coolant, oil, power steering, brake fluid, as well as the ever pesky blinker fluid (just kidding). The seal on the lid is not the highest quality, but it is not designed for anything other than a splash from being moved. I would not trust these full and laying sideways on the floor, but if that level of protection during transport is what you are after perhaps a steel oil drum is more appropriate. In transit sitting upright in the trunk/cargo area they are great and have not leaked for me yet. They have a low center of gravity and wide enough base to keep them upright under normal driving conditions. I personally have not had a major concern about spillage in transit. To be clear these are not designed to capture fluids during removal, just for storage and transport after. The opening is just too small to be adequate for catching falling fluids without causing a bit of a mess. Use a good drain pan first and then transfer to this container.

Worth the buy!!! Would recommend.
My cap was gray not green and this thing is amazing. I’ve changed both of my cars oils and this holds it all. Allowing me to make one trip to recycle it all at my local autozone. No leaks either. My container has sat purposely for 8+ months to make sure it did not leak.

Does Its Job Just Fine
I have a riding lawn mower and a number of other pieces of yard equipment and have to change the oil. This works well for storing the spent oil until I can take it for recycling. I feel that it is sturdy enough to do its job. It has a nice, wide mouth to funnel the oil in. Cap stays on decently. It's not a jig you're going to get a lot of heavy use out of. It's really meant to just store your old oil until you can take it for recycling. It is very much a disposable jug.

Garbage lid, extremely leaky
Pros: black heavy duty container. Con: everything else! Do not waste your money on this!! The lid isn’t worth Jack squat. It just turns and then pops up and off, over and over and over again, no matter how you try to put the cap on. I have two of these containers and north of them are this way. To bring the used oil in for recycling, I can only fill both about 1/2 way. Put them into a big storage tote. Put 1-2 heady duty high absorbency dog potty pads in the bottom of the tote. Drive very carefully on accelerator and brake.

Great for used oil
It is exactly as described. Great for putting used oil in to take back to the auto parts store for recycling. I like the large mouth on it, makes it easy to pour from the drain pan into it without the need for a funnel.
