Stick with OEM
I love my Lexmark printer but do not love the fact that the ink is expensive compared to all my other printers. However, with my other printers I was always extremely satisfied with the refill cartridges from Sophia Global. Not only was the capacity excellent but the price was 50% of the OEM cartridges.Flash forward to me getting this Lexmark printer. I got it at a phenomenal price from a Brick & Mortar big box store and the printer had two regular cartridges included in the box. Because of this, I was not even thinking about pricing these cartridges because the bundle (Printer + B&W + Magenta cartridge) was under $30! Yes, it was on sale, but still..So, imagine my shock when I ran out of the free ink and came online to buy replacements. Never in a million years would I have guessed that a single cartridge would cost as much as the Printer and two Cartridges would! Well, that is OK I thought because I will just buy the refills from Sophia. Nope. When I got my printer, NONE of the ink sellers even made refills for my printer. In fact, you could not even buy the do it yourself refill kit for the 36/37. Since I love my printer so much I decided to buy a 4-pack from Staples because I had earned the rewards and also had a non-restricted 20% discount coupon. I figured that I would simply give the printer away or trash it if the cartridge price did not fall when the four pack ran out.Not long after I had a health issue that sidelined me from my internet business for 6 months. Therefore, between the time that four cartridges lasted and the duration of my illness, I was very pleased to see that the 36/37 was offered as refills. I was pleased until my eyes traveled to the left and realized that the refills were relatively expensive as well. Then I got my EBay Bucks and found a TRS that had a two pack of the refills for $40 so I grabbed them because that was at least $20 cheaper than the OEM's (XL cartridges). To make a long story short I have used three different ink suppliers for refills and all three times I had to return the cartridges because either my printer said "not recognized" or the print quality was awful and the cartridges died in a week. The frustration involved was enormous because my business depends on me printing a few shipping labels a day and I had days where I had no ink. Mind you that; 1. The refills were NOT cheap, 2. The refills were actually made with spent Lexmark OEM cartridges instead of garbage plastic cartridges produced overseas. How maddening that they were using Lexmark empties, slapping their own labels over the Lexmark labels, charging a premium and then shipping cartridges that were mostly inoperable. FWIW, after my third return I called Sophia Global and spoke to a rep there before I ordered (Sophia was not one of the three because they were high for these refills). This rep told me that nobody had really perfected the 36/37 and was honest enough to tell me that they were unreliable and shared something else with me....I had known that the printers made in the last 7 years or so are now priced less than the actual cost of producing. Like McDonald's with a soft drink, printer makers need us to buy their ink to ensure their profitability. What he alluded to was a suspicion that is traveling along the grapevine. That is the belief that Lexmark spent a TON of money to assure that refillers did not destroy their ink sales. The word is that there is a proprietary manufacturing method they employ that makes the refilling procedure very difficult to "pirate". It is compared to the extra security steps and confidentiality employed by the US Mint with the redesign of currency due to rampant counterfeiting. I am not a conspiracist but I do know that I got a printer that would have cost $2,500 10 years ago and that 10-year-old printer would not be an AIO printer. I also am certain that the money I paid for the printer did not come close to covering the cost of manufacturing the printer and two free cartridges. If I were a conspiracist, I would surmise that these free cartridges were bundled with the printer using brilliant forethought and intent to keep normally perceptive hardware buyers like myself from doing any research on continuing operating cost. The price of the bundle was so insanely negligible that my ONLY thought was to grab it and run out the door. What if someone figured out that a huge mistake was made in pricing these? What if someone came in and bought all 20 units in front of me while I pondered? I simply could not take such risks and therefore I needed it THEN, NOW! I was intoxicated by the deal! My business acumen was shoved into a section of my brain that was not available as I picked up the box and headed for the register. Now I am like the sheep that the manufacturer counted on and am stuck with paying exorbitant prices for the OEM refills. Umm, wait. I think claimed that I was NOT a conspiracist! Sigh...Verdict: If you have a later model Lexmark, and I suspect this applies to all manufacturers and late model ink jets, you need to understand that you entered into a pact when you made that dash to the register. It is a pact forever sealed by the fact that this <$30 printer is simply light years ahead of the "old days" models and has been completely reliable in this excellence making it impossible for me to pull the trigger and give up this expensive "addiction". As I said, I am sure this entire cycle of bundling as well as proprietary refilling, methods were designed to thwart the refill market. Therefore, I sadly do not think there is any solution to offer. Unless I want to give up the technology and find an old printer, which I am not, I think the manufacturing community has found a way to get back the revenue they have lost to refillers for the last decade. It certainly seems like the prices dropped to insanely low points within the last year. To me, this signals confidence by the makers that they will be able to recoup their funds.Do not waste your time or sacrifice your business best practices by chasing a 20% savings on ink these days (e.g. having to delay shipments by 24 hours because you cannot print a B&W label). Bite the bullet and ante up the $$ for the perfect cartridges to feed your great, new printer. If you are not willing to pay the piper for proper ink, I have a garage full of old gateway printers that work wonderfully with refills. Shoot me a message and I will make you a great deal on them! :-/

Product works ok
Install of this ink is simple and the cartridge certainly lasts much longer than the regular sized Lexmark #36 ink. This product is also eligible for Lexmark's cartridge return program. If you have 3 empties you can send them to Lexmark and they'll send you a free cartridge in return. With that being said my problems lie in the fact that this ink costs as much as the printer does. I am getting close to 500 pages with this ink cartridge but the color starts to fade drastically even before the Lexmark software indicates that the cartridge needs to be replaced. This is a no brain purchase if you require this ink as it will last much longer with a total lower cost per print over the regular #36 cartridge. I just don't appreciate the usual ink cost antics from Lexmark and other companies.

A good value. (Genuine cartridges are better value than the "budget" alternatives, every time <- that'sthe voice of experience.)
I know that OEM inkjet cartridges seem like a great racket because they are the printer companies' moneymakers ...we know that those consumables are what it's all about... and since that's the way it is, I am glad that these XL cartridges perform as they are supposed to and give you good value (relatively speaking, and particularly compared to the allegedly "cheaper" alternatives.) I've never had a problem with a genuine Lexmark cartridge and this order was no exception.Don't waste your time or money on the third party cartridges! (every once in a while I think I'll save some money and do just that - and end up disappointed... that's what happened before I ordered this)... the OEM cartridges last longer and are more reliable than those, and the last batch of 3rd party cartridges I bought ended up costing me more because 3 of the 4 ended up "running out" (clogging up) only a few pages in.

What I like best about the ink is the deep rich pigments that shows when you print a document. Love it!!!

Great deal and great product
I've had difficulty in recent years finding these cartridges in a retail store. So I started to buy non OEM (generic) cartridges. They never, ever worked right in the printer. Always problems. Tried this seller, a little skeptically because the price was so low. They were delivered promptly, were OEM, installed without complaint from the printer and have worked splendidly. Having ordered and installed the black cartridge without problem, I ended up ordering the color cartridge also - having not bought one for years. The prices are incredibly low and the transaction super smooth. Would recommend this to anyone.

LEXMARK 36XL FOR THE LM PRINTER 5650
I have used this brand for years and can last longer and do better if wiped cleaned regularly with the wet towels and also electronically on the menu. I am now into x5650 machine and quite unique as well. Also takes time to search now a days as machines get older. But also some compatible ones on the market as well. Price is still reasonable.

Cartuccia Lexmark 36XL nera
La cartuccia è arrivata entro il termine previsto, anche se molto lungo, ma questa è una cartuccia ormai difficile da trovare per cui sono soddisfatto dell'acquisto, anche il costo è stato contenuto.
