Reliable and Versatile Trimmer with Excellent Longevity
I've been using the Panasonic ER-GB80 Wet & Dry Electric Beard, Hair and Body Trimmer for over three years now, and overall, I'm very satisfied with its performance. It’s a solid trimmer that has consistently delivered good results, with only a few minor drawbacks. Performance and Versatility This trimmer does a great job, especially when it comes to maintaining a beard. My beard tends to be quite unruly, but with about five passes over each section, it trims down evenly and efficiently. While I only use one of the attachments for my beard, the trimmer comes with a variety of accessories, making it versatile enough for different grooming tasks, including head shaving. The clipper attachment is particularly useful, though it does require regular cleaning and oiling to keep it functioning well. Wet & Dry Feature The wet and dry functionality is a nice addition, although I primarily use it for rinsing and cleaning the trimmer. For those who prefer trimming in the shower or with shaving foam, this feature could be more beneficial. Battery Life and Charging One of the few areas where this trimmer could be improved is the initial charging time, which is a bit long. However, once fully charged, the battery holds its charge impressively well, so this isn’t a major issue. Even after years of use, the battery life remains reasonable, although like most rechargeable devices, it does start to wear down eventually. Maintenance and Accessories The trimmer comes with a handy case, a charger, a little brush, some oil, and instructions. The oil that comes with it lasts for ages if used sparingly, which is a plus. The clipper part is removable, making it easier to clean, but it does tend to collect hair. I find that using a small air duster (like the ones used for cleaning a PC keyboard) works perfectly for keeping it hair-free, which is much easier than trying to clean it manually. Durability After three years, the trimmer still works as well as it did when I first got it. The build quality is solid, and despite regular use, it has shown no signs of significant wear and tear. Final Verdict The Panasonic ER-GB80 is a reliable and durable trimmer that offers good value for money. It's versatile enough to handle various grooming tasks, although I mainly use it for beard trimming. While the initial charging time is a bit long, the battery life is impressive, and the trimmer comes with a useful selection of accessories. If you're looking for a dependable trimmer that will last, this one is a great choice. Pros: Reliable performance, especially for beard trimming Versatile with a good selection of accessories Wet & dry functionality is convenient for cleaning Solid build quality and long-lasting battery life Cons: Initial charging time is a bit long Requires regular cleaning, especially the clipper part

Works fine but it a bit too big and this can be an issue for some
Powerful one. Works well for far (few months); easy to clean and maintain. But is a bit large and unwieldy especially compared to the previous version that was spot on in terms of size. Tricky to use when you want to do some fine trimming due to this size issue (blade is too large for some places). Also, compared to the previous version, for some reason, there is hair left on the blade outside which then sticks to your face as you go in for a fine trim. Still overall a good trimmer but they should have kept the head smaller.

Beard trimmer
This is a very, very good beer trimmer. I love it. It works really well clean as well and operates very well.

Good trimmer, waterproof
I'm on my second one of these, the first lasted six years of 2-3 times a week usage mostly in the shower but was starting to lose battery power and the blade was less sharp and was catching/pulling a little. For beard, it's excellent. For head hair, it blocks up if your hair is 3-4cm long but works really well for a weekly trim to 8-10mm when it hasn't grown much. The side trimmer works well for my neck and ears. I like it, there's nothing else from a good brand that I could see that is waterproof and has a side trimmer. I bought the second one at a terrific Black Friday price, but it's good value at anything below £50 in 2024/25. There are at least three listings for this clipper on Amazon at different price.

Expected better
I've been using two trimmer and shaver for years - one for my hair, another for my beard, and shaver to close cut the areas I want clear. Both trimmer batteries are dying, so I thought I'd get a one-for-all trimmer, but it turns out that's harder than it sounds. In my case, I trim my beard and hair to about 3.5-4mm. Then clip in the edges. Hair trimmers are too big, beard trimmer are too small. This looked like a good compromise - and it does give great results. However, it's not quite all it seems, especially at its higher price point, which is unjustified IMHO * My #1 gripe is the steel blades. They require an oil after each use according to the manual - at the higher end price this is targeted at, blades are often ceramic with no (or minimal) maintenance * Number 2 gripe is the bare blade trim length - useless for stubble and if you have close hairs. The extra short-hair popup trimmer fixes this, but if you need it the models without would certainly disappoint * It tends to clog * On a positive note you can use it corded if the battery is low (but not flat) * The results so far are good but a little extra power would be welcome in places I've had Philips and Braun to do this job, and while there is a decent Braun (do-it-all trimmer) alternative, Braun still insist on their ridiculous two pin bathroom plug charger so I decided this Panasonic would be worth a try and was nearly half price on offer. The offer price is pretty much what it's worth. Ultimately it has replaced both trimmers, but the oiling isn't what I wanted - I want the £80 quality trimmer it's billed as. And without the popup detail trimmer it would be gone already. As it is, it does deliver good results and clearly it was never going to replace the shaver, but that is a Braun, and now I think I should have gone that route for a do-it-all hair and beard trimmer. IMHO at the price I paid it's OK, but I'm disappointed I didn't get the premium device I thought I'd got a bargain on.

My second one
I bought this to replace and older version of the same one, which had been a faithful servant for a number of years but was losing its battery life. The trimmer comes with a number of accessories for a variety of hair trimming related tasks, plus a charger, a handy case, a little brush, some oil and instructions. I only use it for trimming my beard, so only use one of the fittings. It works as well as anything I've used; my short beard is quite unruly and takes about 5 passes to trim each section. The wet & dry feature may appeal to some, but is only of use to me for rinsing/washing the trimmer. The clipper part is removable and collects hair and also needs oiling. I use a small air duster to clean inside here (like you'd use for a PC keyboard) and it works perfectly. Otherwise, it would be tricky to keep it hair free. The included oil lasts for ages if you are careful with it and only use the minimum amount required. Overall, a decent beard trimmer for the price, a good selection of accessories, and reasonable battery life until it starts to wear out.

Must have for DIY haircut
Reliable and easy to use. The battery can last a few haircut before needing to charge again. Still going strong after three years. Saves me a few hundred quid in these years so I have no complaint
