This flat iron arrived incredibly fast and is wonderful to use. I have thick wavy hair that can be frizzy. I was really impressed with the functionality of this tool. The control buttons are well placed, on the inner side of the handle. It has temperature controls that go up or down by 25 degrees per push of the up or down buttons. You can see the digital read out clearly and easily and it gets hot really fast. Within seconds of pushing the power button and choosing my temp. I was able to straighten my hair with one swipe per section. That has never happened with any other flat iron I have used. I usually have to struggle for at least a half hour with tiny sections of hair and multiple swipes of the iron to get the results I got in moments with the Berta Professional. I also found the long swivel chord a plus. This arrived days before I expected, works exactly as promised, made my hair silky and smooth, and the priced can't be beat. I am very impressed with the quality of my purchase and I highly recommend this to anyone.

My daughter is happy with this purchase. Does the job.It is thinner than her last 2 inch but didn't overheat and allows you to set the temperature. The lowest setting is 224 & the highest is 446. 446 is very hot and be careful on fake hair or extensions! That temp can burn your hair and break it. Start with a low setting and see if that works for you before you raise the temperature. When first turn it on, after you open the box, it may smell like rubber burning. That does go away and it's just the first time you turn it on. Don't let that get you nervous. That's completely normal. Controls are inside the straightener. Strange position but works. Another thing my daughter liked, is that the connection from the cord to the unit---+swings! So the cord doesn't get trusted and tied up while using. (See photo). It does do a great job. She has frizzy curls and this straitener made it look sleek and straight at the lowest level.

I'm pleased with this flat iron. However it doesn't get super hot. I use it on the highest setting and it still doesn't seem very hot, but it does smooth my hair and eliminates flyaways, without pulling the hair because of the floating plates. Not too bad! I have seen some of the people posting reviews complaining where the on and off button and heat setting is because it's on the inside of the iron. I avoid burning my fingers trying to turn this off and on by just unplugging it instead of using the power button.

Works well. I'm a Viking woman with medium thick, wavy hair. It does take awhile to get through my whole head - but it's worth it because my hair looks great and after a few months I haven't seen any damage.I only straighten my hair for special occasions because if a cloud comes within view I start feeling the frizz/curl/kink coming on.This iron really does seem to keep my hair straight better than I've ever had before. Shiney, too. Heats fast, pretty light.Only wish it locked shut. A problem for storage.

I had one of these for years and finally it quit working. Seemed like the cord had a short in it because if you moved it around it would turn off. I ordered a new one. Right when I turned it on, it heated up. When I went to use it, it cut off. If you turned the chord a certain way, it would come back on, but if you moved it, it would cut back off again. I will be returning it. I hated that because I loved the previous one I had for years.

I have had several straighteners in my life and most have been obviously cheap mass produced garbage! The good thing about this straightener is that there is a certain feel to it that indicates a sturdy well made product. It heats up fast, is sleek and shiny in design and I look forward to using this when I am getting ready in the mornings! Not too big, but big enough to be efficient on my long thick hair-- without frying it nonetheless! Very happy with this purchase

Heats up quickly, and very hot on high.I can't use on high with my colored hair.Even my daughter only uses it on Med and it works well. Nice long swivel cord is very nice. The curler itself is attractive and pro looking.

Works fine, but I find if left plugged in, even when turned off, it continues to heat. Make sure you unplug and turn off, because that could be a fire hazard. Also, because the top is metal, it gets really hot too, so the area your holding can get very hot. There is a button labeled with an M under the +/- signs that is not mentioned in the manual and does not appear to do anything.Though I think there are some major design flaws, it does still straighten fine.
