Comfort Cool Thumb CMC Restriction Splint, Right Medium 7" to 8"

I bought one for each hand on the recommendation of an Occupational Therapist. They work well to support my wrist and thumb joints. They are comfortable to wear.

This is a highly recommended brace for CMC arthritis. However, it did not have stitched borders and irritated my skin. That would be much nicer and better in quality. If you need more support in the wrist as well, which I like, they don't do the trick The brace is soft, and the thumb band is excellent. They just didn't work for me.

I got this on a recommendation of my occupational therapist for osteoarthritis in my CMC joint.I like it functionally. It fits well and can be pulled tighter as desired, while not unduly restricting use of my thumb. I tried another variety, which almost immobilizes the thumb; a lot more protection and lost functionality than I want.It's also easy to strip off and put back on.My major objection is its durability. After only a week of wearing it more or less full time, it shows wear and damage at the thumb. Not surprising in a way; that's a pretty busy area for day-to-day living. Still, for the substantial price, I would expect it to last for at least several months.The vendor also recommends hand washing. That's a problem for an appliance worn under cycling gloves, under gardening gloves, or out in the open for ordinary sweaty activities. Proliferating micro-organisms can be stopped by a hot-water cycle through the laundry, but wearing it in the shower or squeezing it out in a washbowl just doesn't hack it. I got okay results from water full of dish soap and isopropyl alcohol (as an antiseptic), but I'd rather not have to do that every few days.Everything is a trade-off.

Best brace I have bought. Easy on and off. Gives great support to CMC area of thumb without restricting hand movement. Worn this type of brace for many yrs and thankful to get good support for that area.

I have a love/hate relationship with thumb and wrist supports. Bought many, some work most don’t.Just bought this one as my right thumb is extremely sore at both joints. Needed some support to make it through a normal day and to support at night. I’ve worn the right thumb brace for 36 hours now and no irritation whatsoever.I absolutely love this brace. Supports my thumb in all aspects and greatly appreciated.

It runs small—I measured and fit the “medium” perfectly, but it’s too tight. I can pull the device around my hand for the Velcro to catch, but not covering all of the Velcro and it catches on clothes. The fabric part of the strap that goes around the thumb came apart from the Velcro, so I had to super glue it back together. As others have stated, the thumb hole is fraying. Unfortunately, I’m 8 days past the 30-day return window, so I’m stuck. I need a second brace for a backup when the first one is drying, but I’m hesitant to purchase a second one of this brand.

These support my thumbs without being cumbersome. Recommended by my physician

Good support and fit well

This splint is by far the best for thumb pain. I purchased one from an occupational therapist and wanted to get another on Amazon. Caution with the sizing as there are 2 types of small sizes, and the one just "small" is very very small. The material is snub but will stretch slightly over time.

My sister had bought these from the hospital as that is what they recommended and so glad I found them on amazon. I'm glad I could try hers on first so I knew correct size as they are really work!!!

Was pleased with the fit and support. Material frayed around the thumb in a matter of weeks. I have trimmed it numerous times with the same result. Brace does the job but is not very nice looking now.
