Very happy
I purchased this to match a similar one I purchased from Cabela’s. I needed a longer one and Cabela’s didn’t offer it but the Cabela brand is just a Boyt case w/ a Cabela’s sticker on it. Got lucky and found this on sale, was less than 1/2 of what I paid at Cabela’s for the shorter case.

Great case.
Only comment I have other than it is a really good case is I wish the ends of the case had latches as well. Other than that it's well worth the money.

Good value for the money
I saw this exact same box, branded by Cabelas, selling for 60% more. This one here is a good value for the money. It works and will protect your rifle, scope etc.Reason I'm not giving a 5 star review is because the product came with some rough edges, and things that evidenced a bit of lack of quality control. Nothing that will compromise it's sturdiness, durability or functionality though.

Solid case for the money
This is not a pelican but it is a good case for the money.

I went back and forth for a while before pulling the trigger on this case. I was debating buying this one, a cheaper version sold by Cabela's and the more expensive option made by Pelican. I went by Cabela's to see their version and I was able to compare their case (which looks just like this one except is says Cabela's where this one says Boyt) to the Pelican Case, which they also carried. The Pelican is definitely the superior case. It has wheels, is very hard and was much lighter and less bulky than the Cabela's version. The Pelican had a new style of locks that were plastic, which I'm not sure if I liked better or not.In conclusion, I am very pleased with my purchase of the Boyt brand gun case after much deliberation. It was nearly $50 more than the Cabela's version, but it is less bulky and seems to be slightly superior quality. I think it is well worth it to buy this on for $50 more. I am also glad I did not opt to but the Pelican version. If money is not an issue, then that is definitely the highest quality option. I'm just not sure the Pelican was worth the extra money for my needs over this Boyt as it cost $100 more. Hope this helps someone.

Not impressed
As a former employee of TSA for a decade, I came across a LOT of rifle cases. Searched many, and witnessed a lot of junk ones. I took a risk on this one because it's 1. Made in the USA 2. An American company. 3. It has great reviews. The majority of cases that I have experience with are Pelican. I own two of them for pistols, but needed a rifle case for an upcoming out of state hunt. This Boyt has an very reasonable price, but I don't think the quality control is where it should be. The lower section has a pretty serious warp in it, which prevented the lid from sealing correctly. With my intimate knowledge of the airline industry, I cannot say this case would keep my guns dry if left on the AOA in the rain. Boyt advertises these cases as water resistant. Pelicans are advertised as water proof, and they certainly are within reason. A pelican case can be submersed in water and keep the valuables inside safe and dry.I'm not impressed with the metal latches. The reason Boyt uses them is because they aren't made by Boyt and they are manufactured by another company. Boyt might make the case, but they don't make the latches. These latches don't compare to a Pelican. I don't feel they compressed the lid tightly enough against the seal, even after I got the lid and bottom to align correctly with some force.I can't recommend this product folks. There is a reason the military uses Pelican and Hardigg cases. They handle the abuse. I returned this product and will be purchasing a Pelican 1750.

Decent case
This Boyt case is not as good as a pelican case, but the reason I purchased it instead of the pelican I would normally get is because I do not think pelican makes a case that is this size, and certainly not at this price. I needed a case large enough for a 7-1/2" Ruger Super Redhawk, but there was plenty of extra room so I also put my 1911 and a ruger LCP in there as well. The Case itself is made well enough, I prefer the pelican style latches and the hinges are better on the pelican cases. I do prefer the solid foam this case has instead of the stupid pick and pluck foam which really only works well if you are putting something square in there. The pressure relief valve on this is pretty cheesy as well. When I came to cutting the foam to fit my handguns I took the thinner piece of foam from the bottom of the case and cut that instead of the thicker piece that is in the middle, and even then I ended up cutting my cutouts in half and sticking them back into the holes. Not cheap but it is good for the money.

Paid for itself in oversized luggage charges
I was travelling to a SD pheasant hunt, and the oversize luggage charge for my takedown shotgun was going to be $200... That was more than enough to pay for this nice case, which holds 2 takedown shotguns easily.I used the TSA-approved locks on it, the ones with 1/8" thick cables and 3-cylinder number locks... It will take up to 4 of them, but 1 on each end would have worked OK.The case rolls like a dream. One minor "flaw": it doesn't stand upright on end... it will easily sit in "landscape" mode but not "portrait."It's a very solid case; I'm sure it will outlast me.
