5 Steppers Less Costly In This Kit
I've had some good luck with this particular motor kit. It's almost everything you need to get going quickly. First, I would say that I'm impressed with the packaging. After getting so many parts barely in a cheap plastic bag, this was like a breath of fresh air. Some thought and care went into this. Everything came in a hard plastic case, with the individual driver boards in sealed ESD-safe bags. Mine did come with a resistor color code reference card, which I didn't need but is nonetheless handy for the beginner. Second is the motors themselves. Considering I paid a little over $12 for the whole box of 5 plus driver boards, I can't say I'm disappointed in their performance. I was able to build 2 circuit plotters and still have 1 motor left for another future project. It's plenty for someone that doesn't need as much now. If that is the case, you can consider it an investment since the cost per motor at this price is much lower than buying them one or two at a time. Performance of the motors themselves has been quite good. Going strong at over 50 hours of non-continuous operation, and they haven't given out yet. They are quick and responsive to commands through the driver boards. If they don't seem to be responsive enough, consider swapping out the drivers first with something higher-end.Of course, that does mean spending more money, but the motors themselves don't seem to be a problem for me. Programming for these is dead easy. There are tons of examples out there from simple to complex on the Internet. Github is a great resource for Arduino and PIC uC source code. One thing you should keep in mind when building anything with these, or anything that draws a current load at 1mA/s or higher like these motors. The driver ICs can get fairly hot in short order, so consider putting a fan on them or keep them in an area with some airflow across their surface. Not doing this step can lower the lifespan of them quickly, and before you know it you'll be in the market for replacements. If it's more torque than the specified 34.3mN.m that you need, I would recommend looking for something like a larger NEMA 17 stepper motor or higher with a good h-bridge to drive it via microcontroller. You really can't go wrong with this kit, though. For smaller projects that don't require a lot of industrial-level torque but do require effective precision, you can't do much better for the price.

Everything needed at a great price
Great little stepper motor, bundled with everything you need to use a raspberry pi or the like to run it.

Nice kit for Arduino projects
Longruner geared steeper motor and driver board came nicely packed inside a storage box. This package contains 5 geared stepper motor and 5 driver board. This is great starter kit if you want to do projects with Arduino. The motors are very sturdy but after continuous running for certain period of time, the motor get warm and the gearing gives slow speed , but got high torque.

Nice for beginners
If you're new to Arduinos (like me), you'll love these. The best components at first have two characteristics: a) intuitive, simple, and easy to use, and b) no tragedy if the magic smoke escapes. These fit the bill - let me play with steppers that are actually quite effective, without worrying about burning up something costly. I'm not knocking them for serious work - just saying - these are a great choice to go along with your first or second arduino. Some "pro" tips ... 2038 steps per revolution max speed of 18 (RPM). 5V Wire these with an external power supply - don't drive Vcc/Vin off of your Arduino!

Nice mini stepper motors for the price.
These little steppers work great. You can easily convert them to bipolar mode by removing the blue cover and cutting across the center PCB trace. I needed small powerful bipolar steppers for a robot project I'm building with my daughter for school and these fit the bill perfectly after a minor modification. Once the center trace is cut, a quick youtube search revealed how to hook them up to a normal bipolar stepper driver. Running at 12v, the motors will get hot and produce enough torque to damage the internal gears. There is little to no play in the gearing and stepping seems tight and accurate so far.

Great price and delivery
I didn't receive the customer appreciation gift of jumper wires and a plastic enclosure for the stepper motors and the ULN2003 boards like the others reviewers. My parts were crammed in plastic bags. More importantly, after straightening out a couple of bent tabs and pins, I tested everything, and all 5 sets of motors and driver boards worked well. The price is good and the delivery was very quick, but I just don't feel appreciated (lol).

Decent, but there is a decent amount of backlash
Fair amount of backlash. This could be accounted for in software but I'm lazy. Don't expect to use this with a precision machine, but for something simple, it's a great cheap option.

make sure they are strong enough prior to purchase, do the math.
I should've read the specs and did the math to see what I needed vs this impulse buy. The product is not misleading, and is what was requested. the fault is on my side. I've tested to make sure these work and there are not product defects, but as far as placing them in use .... they wont work for what I wanted to use them for .... I'll find something for them one day, but right now they sit there looking at me, mocking me for not doing my research correctly .... so they've paid for them selves as a reminder.
