Perfect for my Deck Garden
I'm very pleased with this planter box. The planter box turned out to be larger than I expected—in a good way. I hadn’t noticed in the product details that it holds up to 10 gallons of soil, so that was a pleasant surprise. I really appreciate the convenience of the mobile design, which makes it easy to move the planter for optimal sun exposure or to pull it closer to the building during severe weather. Installation was mostly simple, though the black insert flaps were a bit confusing at first—but I got it figured out. The box itself is sturdy; the trellis is flimsy, but I expected that based on reviews. Despite that, the purchase was still worthwhile. If I could, I’d give this product a 4.5-star rating, but since that’s not an option, I rounded up.

Fencing cheap
Fencing is pretty cheap. Planter is well constructed.

Best planter box
I rarely write reviews, but this product is worth one. I bought at least 7 different self-watering planter boxes from Amazon, and after three years of use, this one is the clear winner -- I like it so much that I just bought 10 (!) more to replace all other planter boxes. Pros: 1. Super sturdy. Unlike other planter boxes that require assembly of the sides, this one is a whole box and has no point of failure. I currently have 5 boxes of this product, they have been through a lot of abuse over the years, and all of them hold up really well. They other planter boxes that require assembly are barely holding up. 2. Mobile. Inevitably I need to move them here and there, and other boxes are almost impossible to drag around. This box, on the other hand, just can be dragged around with a full box of spoil and vegetable easily, in one piece. 3. Self-watering. One unexpected benefit is it's actually water saving, super important in Southern California. If planted on the ground (raised garden or directly on the ground), water will go down quickly and hard for plants to use. This box, on the other hand, will keep water within the box, instead of being absorbed by the dry land underneath. 4. Good height. Deep enough for all my vegetables, but not too deep -- I don't intend to use them for mature big trees. Cons: none really. The price fluctuate a lot and sometimes gets very expensive, see camelcamelcamel for reference.

Planters and trellises are all plastic.
I ordered two of these self watering planters for my summer vegetables. I love the self-watering feature and the fact that the planters are on wheels and can be moved. The plastic trellises, however, are plastic and flimsy. I hope my vegetables grow tall enough to cover the trellises!

Great
We bought this to grown tomato plants in. It has worked very nicely for us. I love that we can wheel them wherever we want. In this bad cold snap it makes it easy to bring inside. The self watering is great just fill the bottom with water and let it be! The plastic frame allowed me to tie the plants as they grew.

Convenient. Works well.
Works well. I grew pole beans and the trellis had to be anchored to the house since the beans were so heavy but it worked really well with tomatoes. Love the receptacle to fill the water.

Works great; not cheap
Assembly was easy enough and the self-watering feature (from bottom) allows for watering every 4-5 days, even in a warm climate like ours. Without it, we would have to water daily once tomato plants are mature. Holds enough soil for two tomato plants of 2-3 ft height (I do not recommend varieties that get larger). As expected, the thin trellis is not sturdy enough for larger tomato plants, but is still nice to have and can be augmented with some additional stakes and/or ties. I'm disappointed that the price has gone up about 10% from 6 months ago, but I guess this is like most everything else recently.

Great purchase
I’m very happy with this set, I bought two and they’re working and look great. My vegetables are growing very well and the little window on the planter lets you see how dry your soil is. It’s a good quality planter for a decent price and moving it from one place to another is easy. My only criticism is that the plastic trellis is a bit flimsy, but so far it’s been supporting my tomatoes well.
