I sew a lot. Love this as a regular tape measure as to measure circumferences such as around arms. Easy to use and good quality

I've had this handy little device for a little over two weeks and decided to take advantage of using it during our stay at home orders from Covid-19. The first night I opened it I measured both arms, upper legs/thighs and around my stomach. I began an exercise routine using only resistance bands and sit-ups for 16 nights in a row and jotted down the measurements. I was floored that in just a little over two weeks, I toned up my muscles by 1/4" to 1/2" in all areas mentioned! If I didn't actually measure them with this device, I don't know if I would've even noticed the difference, so I was thrilled with that. The handheld device is so convenient and has a locking mechanism so that you can accurately measure all areas with ease. You simply pull the tape measure out and lock it into the notch and take your measurement, and when you're finished, you press the button and the tape automatically retracts. The black numbers are so easy to read with inches on one side and centimeters on the other. This particular brand comes with an additional tape measure for a variety of other uses around the house. The spare tape measure also comes with a handy storage case. I invited my friend to do the exercise routine along with me and found it so convenient to pop in my bag to bring with me and take her measurements as well. When I looked over all the different measuring devices, I looked for ease of use, accuracy and price and this one is has a 5-star rating in all three categories and is an excellent value. I can't think of any cons relating to this particular brand and I would recommend it to friends and others as a great motivator for toning up.

While the product does appear simple and cheap. The design allows for easy accurate self measurements. It functions and retracts well, and is easy to read.

Measuring things with a cloth tape measure has become difficult for me. I needed to take various body measurements and there was simply no way I could do it with a traditional tape measure without assistance. Browsing Amazon I found this product and it was inexpensive and even came with a second traditional tape measure. I really didn’t expect much in terms of quality. Happily, I was surprised. The quality is higher than I expected. One end of the tape fits into a slot and then you push a button to retract it. The housing itself takes up two inches and is clearly printed on the case body. I think a person with full finger dexterity could use the device handily. I have to form a loop with the tape, fasten the end into the slot, pass the loop over the body part I want to measure and then click the button to retract the tape. My concern is that the retracting button won’t last long. I have nothing to support that claim, just an impression from the overall quality of construction. I think it will do well for the short term, but won’t last. But the unit is so useful for me and so inexpensive, I will accept a short working life and by another if and when it gives out. In my opinion, an excellent value. Jerry

The tention on the telescopic tape is strong enoug. It will be faster with the normal tape if you already get used to it.
