Great product.
Stir it into some cold juice and drink it down. Don't mix it into hot cereal! It will turn gelatinous and become unedible. (I did this)

Easy to take, nearly tasteless, worth trying
I bought this after trying to take psyllium pills. I thought the pills would be easier. I was wrong. You need to swallow a slew of pills to get the same amount of fiber as in one or two teaspoons of the whole husk. I was worried about the taste. I was worried about what to mix it in. Turns out that smoothies -- any kind -- are one of the easiest ways to get this down. I can't even taste it. Also works great in rice or sprinkled in stew, oatmeal, soup, baked in cookie bars or bread or brownies -- you get the idea. Keep trying it on stuff until you find something that it works on. Don't give up on the first try.You can't really tell that it is there. I have even taken a spoonful in plain, pulp free orange juice. It kind of feels like the pulp you would normally get. It is fairly tasteless. It does not add much, if any, taste to most things. It just blends in. When I can taste it, the flavor is mild and somewhat like bread or wheat. It is not an offensive or strong taste.Don't be afraid :-) Try it. It is easy to take. Sprinkle on some food and you will be amazed at how much it just blends in.Ships fast. Good price.

It works!
I finally found this fiber. Its organic and it is course ground so it is highly effective. Most companies are changing their products and grinding the psyllium to a fine fluffy powder. The fluffy powder looses MOST of the mucilage in the refining process. I have tested 4 different brands in a glass of water. It is clearly evident how much mucilage content is in the fiber. This product is superior. I really hope that the NOW company does not change the way they are making it. It is high is mucilage and it works so gently and fast. I am purchasing additional jars today because I am afraid that the product will be changed. I want this course grind. I have looked everywhere online and in stores to find it. I have had severe digestive problems my whole life and this fiber is superior to all other brands I have purchased. It mixes easily in water, juice or a smoothie. I love it in my oatmeal also. It doesn't have much of a taste when taken in water. That's how I take it most of the time. I take a tablespoon in the morning and a tablespoon at night and my digestion couldn't be better. I love this product. ITs orgainc which is another plus in my book. My body is highly suceptible to chemicals. I get attacks on the bladder (interstital cystitis) if I eat foods that contain perservatives or chemicals. Thanks to the NOW corporation for developing this product.

Let's compare this product against Organic India brand Organic Whole Husk Psyllium
Both products contain 12 ounces of high quality psyllium husk powder. Psyllium has been shown in scientific studies to be moderately beneficial to our overall health (the prevention of heart disease, several cancers, etc.) and extremely beneficial to our bowel health (the prevention and treatment of constipation). Both products claim to be certified organic. The Organic India brand Organic Whole Husk Psyllium was once priced exactly the same as this product, the NOW Foods Organic Whole Psyllium Husks, but is now priced somewhat higher than this product. Both products sold for about $7.00 more than 2 years ago but both products are now selling for about $9.00 today. The other product, Organic India brand, contains pure white psyllium husk powder that looks like it's high in quality because it's coarser (slightly more granulated) than the fine, dull-colored, psyllium husk powder inside of psyllium husk capsules. This product, the NOW Foods brand, contains the same, higher quality, coarser psyllium husk powder but with many brown-colored inclusions. Some people might prefer the pure white color of the contents of the Organic India brand over the brown inclusion-containing contents of the NOW Foods brand. The most important difference between the other product and this product is the container. The canister that is supplied with the other product, the Organic India brand, is a joy to use. It is much better than the giant, milky-white, plastic container that is supplied with this product, the NOW Foods brand. The worst thing about the giant, milky-white, plastic container that is supplied with this product is that it comes with a static charge of static electricity. All kinds of dust, including psyllium powder dust, will cling to the outside of this product's container as if by magic. To greatly weaken this annoying static charge, wash this product with water under your kitchen sink, then wipe it dry with a paper towel. Be careful not to accidentally let any water get inside of this product's container when doing this. This method worked well for me in the past.

Works For My Pets
One of my cats is prone to the occasional diarrhoea. His tests always comes back clean so it's one of those things my vet calls "idiopathic." He suggested giving kitty Metamucil when it happens and I took his advice for awhile but was uncomfortable with the unnecessary ingredients meant to make it palatable for humans. After getting the ok from him I decided to ditch the M and bought the main active ingredient Psyllium Husk instead. It took a bit of trial and error to get the dosage right for us. My cats are on wet food only, and I add about one quarter teaspoon or less and mix it in gently- overmixing tends to turn it into a gelatinous goop and they will not eat it. If you have multiple pets, either feed the one on Psyllium Husk first or prep his or her food last because it will start getting goopy as the minutes go by. Like I said, trial and error.Recently my puppy has been doing a bit of scooting post-pooping. He already had his anal glands expressed during his wellness exam back in April and is parasite-free, so after researching it would appear Psyllium Husk is a safe supplement to give. It supposedly bulks up their poo and helps with natural expression. He's only been on it less than two weeks and that telltale fishy smell has almost gone away, thank goodness.

Best in my opinion
It works and can easily be consumed in cold water.
