Outstanding
This is a phenomenal window unit!! The set up is not difficult at all, if you watch the video. It is so quiet compared to other, traditional window units. Ours is located in the bedroom and the noise is not jarring or loud enough to wake you. It keeps a perfectly steady, almost central air conditioning temperature. It's certainly the best we've had and it's reasonably priced it's the outstanding quality.

Awesome AC unit with a slick look!!
The media could not be loaded. Let me start by saying I paid full price for both of these units. I am a single mom I need incredibly tight budget. I’d love to get a third for my daughters bedroom but just can’t afford it so here is my review for the two that I bought .OK, I would thought I do a review for the Midea U-shaped air conditioner....not to be confused with the regular window unit that they have.I bought last year at the two basic shove window units and I was not happy with them but I thought I’d take a chance based on the reviews on this U-shaped one. Omg it Kicks the other ones butt!!!OK first and foremost I know everybody wants to know is it quiet. I have it in my bedroom and I have a child who has sensory sensitivity to sound so the compressor going off and on on an air conditioner is wildly disturbing through the evening. This is whisper quiet you never hear the compressor going off or on if you do when it’s on high on a super hot day it’s incredibly faint it never bothers her. It’s almost like just having a fan on a medium hi when the air conditioner is on high. When you put it on low it’s almost like you have to keep going over to see if it’s even on but it blows really cold air. So I’ve been super Duper happy. My attached video will show you how quiet it is.Compared to my other brand that started with an H it has a whisper quiet promise with a baby on the package this one actually kicks its butt for quietness. I will update you on the energy savings when I get my first electric bill but the competitor product I think Hass to run longer and harder but it cools very well.I love the swinging blade at the top that allows the air to be circulated through the room so it will allow the air to be disbursed properly to get an even temperature flow. But if you’re in the late 40s crew like me and you might need to have some direct ice cold air blowing on you you can certainly directed to do that and stay there. The installation was easy with a little common sense. I have older larger windows that are with framed with really no window base to secure it too. I was able to figure out how to get a screw into the frame and hold it there the brackets are key to this. This is a heavier air conditioner than the other Madea models that I had which were like a paperweight.. I bought two of these the 10,000 and the 8000. The 10,000 is my first floor air conditioner in a super sunny townhouse and my 8000 is in my very large sunny master bedroom. After I installed both they were super easy to install. Putting the bracket in was fine screwing it down was super easy I’m trying to figure out if you can leave the bracket in through the winter when you take the air conditioner out so I don’t have to keep re-doing this into my wood every year but I’ll cross that bridge in the fallWe are in May and I’ve turn these on probably five times now my upstairs of my townhouse is soon as it hits early April I have so much insulation upstairs my upstairs is so hot it has already been 79 on a regular basis upstairs which is horrendous for sleeping. So I have use the upstairs air conditioner for quite a few evenings and he’s been out standing I actually forget it’s even on. The downstairs of turned off and on on a few days when it’s hot out and I’m trying to do housework inside and it does cool the house down.I am really enjoy the Wi-Fi capability more than I ever thought I would. I’m generally not liking Wi-Fi capable technology I just feel like it’s something that’s going to fail but it has been very nice when I shut them off during the day and then when I’m coming home in the evening from work I can turn them on or I can sit on the couch and be watching a movie and I can cool down my bedroom before I even get up there and then shut it off before I go to sleep because it still cool in the evenings it stays nice and cold.Yes you can shut the beeping off on the air conditioner and you can shut the lights off on the air conditioner so it is completely not noticeable.I love the unique sleek factor of it it looks nice as far as window air conditioners can possibly be you can also if you need to you’re able to open your window and do things out your window so for example if you are somebody who takes your blankets and you shake them out of the window before you put them back on the bed after you’ve change the sheets you’re still able to use your window to do that and you don’t have to worry about your air conditioner falling out.Media sent you with everything that you needed to be able to install this unit easily and swiftly the only thing that got me a little bit caught up were the no tip guards I’m not sure you need them but they are recommended to use the first when I installed I installed everything and didn’t follow the directions like I should have her misunderstood them and I didn’t pull that out so I had to undo a bunch of stuff to pull out the new tip card when I install the second one I need to do that in advance. But that was a lesson learned and not a negative on necessarily media it was more me not reading it very clearly.Overall I’m very happy so far with these units just so you know they are definitely heavier than other units recently that I’ve had. But they are not any heavier than traditional units you’ve had in the past. Light weight doesn’t always make better I do believe firmly that if you have a product that is a solid product is going to do a job there is some weight that is necessary for that unit. As I learn with my original Medeas that I had bought last year that were the traditional window units there like a paperweight they’re super Duper light disturbingly late and they were barely able to cool my house. These are completely different game and I love them!!One last little tidbit I have to wear glasses I can’t see anything up close so when I go to sleep I obviously don’t wear my glasses. Or contacts. The remote is easy to see as are the lettering’s from a distance on the air conditioning unit which is very helpful that I don’t have to turn the light on get the remote up close to my face it’s super easy to use and the fact I can do it on my phone even makes it easier.I have had no problems with connecting to the app and having the app worked efficiently and effectively with either one of the air conditioners.

Strong cooling and quiet
After doing the research, this AC unit is perfect for my 500 sq. ft. art studio space in an old building. It wasn't the easiest to install and be sure to have a strong box cutter to cut the foam pieces, the unit works great. It really cools the room and is quiet. I like how the space for the window allows the window to be mostly closed with just a couple of inches of space to place the foam and insulation. Highly recommend, worth the money.

Game changer for window AC units; better/safer install, much quieter, surprisingly energy efficient
Not gonna lie; I'd seen ads for these air conditioner units and I'd seen at least one review, but I didn't consider buying one of them until a guy in a big box store told me it was easy for him to sleep while he has one on blast in the same room.It turns out they really are much quieter because they are U-shaped and operate with the window closed, leaving the compressor [noise] outside. These units are also much safer to install and easier to remove because they rest on an easy to install, solid metal bracket [instead of dangling 'em out an open window]. Install the bracket, slide the unit until it hits the stops on the bracket, done. For this reason alone, they are a good deal, especially if you want to install one in a window that is not on the first floor. Apartment dwellers, rejoice. My units came with good quality supplies to seal the window around the unit. No more gaps, painter's tape or bugs getting in.And they come with a remote, with a timer. I think you can use an app too. Do what you like.We have two of these units now, one on each end of the house, and they are enough to keep this single level home reasonably cool without having them on blast all day. One is in a window right next to a television, and the other is in a bedroom window. No issues with noise, or vibration. These units are labelled energy efficient, but they really surprised us by NOT maxing out our solar/battery array like the old ones did during reasonably long, fairly hot summers. No more surprise electric bills. Nice.
