Note that the instructions insist at least two screws must be put into studs. Without saying so, I believe Hangman is insisting on this to support as much weight as the product claims to support (which I think was 100 pounds for this item). That seems like a fair request.This bracket gives you a very tight fit of your item to your wall. I would definitely call it "flush," as good as if my cabinet was directly screwed to the wall. The challenge that presents is that lifting your item into place and sliding it down so that the Z-channels catch each other has to be carefully and diligently addressed. It is much harder than hanging a picture on the wall with a nail and wire, but the result is well worth it, and I would buy other Hangman products now that I have this first experience.The wall-attached section has pre-drilled holes 1-inch apart across its entire length. Thus it is easy to align the holes with a stud. The cabinet-attached section has holes spaced farther apart, maybe 3 or 4 inches. That worked fine for me.I ordered the 30-inch to hang a cabinet that was 26 inches long, so I had to trim the cabinet-attached side of the hanger with a hacksaw. That was not difficult, and product didn't bend when I clamped it securely to the workbench and made my cut. I trimmed the wall-attached side down to 20 inches, so it spanned two wall studs and a bit more. This gives me the flexibility to slide the cabinet a little to the left or right on the wall without exposing the wall-attached bracket.

My husband is STILL shocked at how easy is was to hang a LARGE 36x24x24 inch cabinet above our fridge. Neither of us are super handy but with this cleat we were easily able to hang this. Took us about 30 minutes total. Seems super sturdy. It is a heavy cabinet and I filled it up with my heaviest things and it is holding up just fine. I would recommend this to anyone that needs to mount a cabinet or heavy furniture to a wall.

Love the fact that they came with a little level. I hung a king sized headboard on the wall. Installation was tricky but not because of the fasteners (Headboard was cheaply made) Highly recommended.Oh..some of the screws were useless to me because of my wall; I had to use anchors and my preferred type of screws

Love love love. This was the answer to hanging a 40 lb mirror over our bed. My husband had been very weary of the cleat but became a believer. It was easy to use and secured easily to the wall and mirror. It turned into a 20 minute job instead of half a day.

I purchased this French Cleat 30" length mounting kit for a mirror I've been using as a floor stander. Now that I want it securely mounted for safety, this is the way to go!The kit comes with drywall screws (for the wall bracket) and small black oxide screws (for the mirror/cabinet). Make sure you have a stud finder, pen/pencil, and a second helper if needed.I would suggest using some extra 2-3" long screws to tie the wall bracket into the studs for extra reassurance. Simple to install and level with the included bubble level which slides across the length of the wall bracket.

Works great! I hung my 60 lb mirror with this. The only warning I have is make sure the bracket on whatever you are hanging is hooked over the top part of the bracket on the wall. It’s hard to see the brackets because they are hidden behind what you are hanging. So you have to feel it hook in place. Otherwise this bracket works great. It was easy to install, especially with the included level. I really recommend this for hanging anything heavy.

Followed directions. Hung mirror. The top sits practically flush against the wall but the bottom of the mirror juts out about 3-4 inches from the wall!!!! If I can get this mirror to hang off of the cleat without this ridiculous looking gap, I promise to change my rating. Until then, this looks like a safety hazard and I can't keep my mirror on it.

This was not very easy to install. We were hanging a long cabinet and needed to align two together. However the instructions weren’t very clear. I do feel it is strong enough to hold a heavy cabinet, but took awhile to figure out. The cabinet bracket at IKEA was way easier, but this was an ok option. I would likely purchase again.

Even though the title says these brackets are suitable for ledges, they are not. The reason being that the two pieces are not snug enough to ensure the shelf is straight. when mounted. Ther is a lot of room between the two pieces that there is movement on the shelves. I would also recommend that better instructions be provided for the item. There are videos on the Hangman website that shows how to mount the item properly but it would be beneficial if that link was provided in the package or have more detailed instructions. I have returned this item because I was not happy with the fit and form of this item.

The instruction were very unclear in both the description and images, unclear which side was to be screwed to the piece and which one to the wall. I even went to their website and it was also unclear, more holes than screws, no info on which holes to use with limited screws available. They supply 2 types of screw and mention that the bear claw screws go into the piece but don’t identify which are bear claw screws and don5 even talk about others. The product worked out quite well but I had to review 10 YouTube videos to understand.

The French Cleat is very sturdy and is holding up an almost 35 kgs mirror for me. I fixed 3 drywall screws and 2 stud screws on the wall section and it is holding steadfast. A recommended buy for hanging anything heavy on the way. The package also comes with some wood frame and stud screws, along with a small spirit level.

So easy to install and giving the lenth of the rail it was east to center my piece on the wall.

Mounted a 60 lb mirror..wouldve been nice if it came with non stud screws
