Best yet
This was for my mum. She is thr destroyer of little radios. This is the 2nd I bought her in 6 months. The last didn't have the time on so was deemed uselessThis so far has been great. And thanks to people answering my question about the time being displayed has the timeShe said the sound is fine and works. But mostly has the time. For me it was easy to set up and works out the box. Charged well and seems well made.Very clear screen and reception seems to be good too.

Great little radio
I spent a lot of time looking for a portable, battery operated radio. I looked at this one and the Grundig but eventually opted for this one.First impressions are that it’s tiny. The photos make it appear a lot bigger but it’s roughly no larger than a credit card and about as deep as a chocolate bar.Turned it on and it picked up 88 stations right away.I wanted it for the speaker and the quality is great. A little tiny but loud enough which is what I wanted. This will mainly be used to listen to football matches and it works perfect for that.Really pleased with itEdit**Having used this for a while now a few things to note.1) The battery life is incredible2) I use it in the car driving around and the signal is amazing3) the buttons are loud and very clicky. Annoying at night4) station saving is difficult but finding the station you want is easy so don’t bother5) just stop reading reviews and buy it. You won’t be disappointedI also contacted customer service and they were very helpful and trustworthy.

Great Pocket Radio - Sounds great when plugged in to a boombox or headphones
Liked -Its palm sized. Its easy to read the screen and the buttons are easy to press. The sound quality from the line out/headphone jack is fantastic. I had the DAB plugged in to a portable boombox and it was bang on.Disliked -I'm a little worried about breaking it. Its very light and made of plastic. The antenna is also very thin and flimsy. It wouldn't take much to snap off. You have to be a little careful not to bang it around.Nitpicks -Its internal speaker I would say is a little better than your smartphone speaker definitely louder but its what you would expect for something of that size. Fine for vocals and harmonics but don't expect bass.I've never had good luck with reception when it comes to pocket radios in my area. I've have to extend the antenna fully to get a signal and getting a stable signal on the move with earphones can be problematic since with DAB as its results in harsh cut offs compared to FM which just weaves in and out. This is specific to me. Recepetion varies from place to place.

Good, but not as good as they used to be
I bought the S1 when that originally came out. Really liked the sound (90%+ through headphones) and the features, in particular the sleep mode which I used regularly. The buttons on this model were recessed into the body however so it was not a physical push of the button needed to depress it more a light touch. Over time the light press function began to stick to the point that they would not depress at all, so I bit the bullet and bought an S2.The buttons were more robust on this, which was great. Power and volume up/down on the left as you look at the model menu and station/menu select options on the right. Sadly this one dropped off the bed and onto a plug, which seemed to damage the selection capabilities and display, so although the buttons physically worked the menu options would not change, so you could not alter volume or station.I looked around at others available but concluded that this was still a good model, so bought a further S2. While the functionality is still the same there are changes that are definitely not for the good. The button presses are far more "clicky" than the previous S2 (not ideal when having to try and navigate while partner asleep next to me). The volume up button now setup menu button and you seem to have to have the display on some particular setting so that its the menu function that works rather than just increasing the volume. Still not worked that out fully. Also, with both previous models, when you switched on again, the volume level came back at that at which it had previously been left. Now it doesn't seem to retain settings and comes back at something that is far too high for people to listen to - through headphones at least again not ideal for the sleeping partner issue as the volume is very audible in the room through the headphones.Still sounds as clear as the earlier models, but definitely not as happy with this newest version.Possibly should have gone for their A2 version without a speaker, but was OK with the S2 at the time and the A2 a bit chunkier plus I've no real idea what they are like as not enough reviews yet

Value for money pocket radio
Bought this as a replacement for the Roberts Sports DAB 3 and earlier varaint, both of which over constant use and time had a failure with the dc power charging input socket although working otherwise. The casing appears identical in size and form to the Roberts and the layout of the button controls is broadly similar. I've only used it for a short periof of time so can't yet comment on the battery life although seems just as good. The display characters are slightly larger than the Roberts' and provide the same information. The extendible aerial does not have a hinge at the base to enable it to be angled. The RF front end seems to be slightly worse on sensitivity i.e. you have to extend the aerial further to obtain the same signal. However, overall, for value for money in comparison, it is an excellent buy in my opinion.
